We’ve seen a lot of iDevices being used as musical instruments. There was that band on a New York subway using nothing but iPhones, and the Magic Fiddle App for the iPad.

Here is a Christmas concert at North Point Community Church, and, as you can see from the video, this iBand does some serious tunes with iPhones and iPads.

Yes, I wouldn’t have posted it if there were not iDevices, and yes, I wouldn’t have posted it at all if it wasn’t the holidays.

You are going to have to watch the above video with a lot of anti-sarcasm meds, but Aliph, the makers of the Jawbone, have created a pretty useful land with Thoughts.

Think of Thoughts as a way to “bridge the disconnect between text messaging and voice communication”. Thoughts allows the user to record a voice message, and let it be played later. There is even a voice-to-text application, and it can apparently pick up some nuances.

Those that receive your “thought” need to have the App in order to respond. Fortunately, the App is completely free.

No problem. If you’ll recall, we heard back in May that Visa was in cahoots with DeviceFidelity, with the two trumpeting a not-exactly-svelte In2Pay case that would add contactless payment support to Apple’s darling. Today, the rest of the world is finally being taken into consideration. The aforementioned firms have just cleared a new In2Pay microSD solution for use in the real world, with the BlackBerry Bold 9650 and the Samsung Vibrant in particular named as compatible. In theory, it seems that nearly any smartphone with a microSD slot could be ushered into the arena, and Visa itself expects to add additional phone models for use with this technology, “including phones based on the Symbian and Windows operating systems.” This unveiling is happening after a solid 18 months of testing around the globe, but there’s no definitive word on which banks will be offering this to customers. Between this and the sudden interest in NFC, America seems more poised than ever before to slip ever further into an endless pool of debt, and with way less friction than before! We kid, we kid… kind of.

He is also known as a celebrity that caused a planed to turn around on the runway and head back to the gate because he refused to turn off his BlackBerry.

Apparently, the flight attendant asked him to turn off his electronic mobile device three times. After the third time, he laughed at her. Man, I hope he said that “do you know who I am”? If I were working that airline, my response would have been: “you’re the guy in that awful Life as We Know It film”.

Sorry, Josh, even celebrities have to turn off their BlackBerry on a commercial flight.

blackberryioswebshare BlackBerry OS Overtakes iOS in United States Web Traffic

The mobile market is quite saturated with different smartphones but when it comes to actual platforms there are only a few. BlackBerry, iOS, Android, webOS, Windows Phone 7, Symbian and MeeGo pretty much make up the entire demographics. However, in terms of popularity (in the US) BlackBerry, iOS and Android are at the top of the pack.

However, while iOS has long accounted for the biggest chunk of mobile web traffic, the guys over at RIM can mark up a win as today it was announced that BlackBerry has taken the top stop, as you can see from the above graph. Of course, this is most likely only temporary and iOS will soon top BlackBerry once again but only time will tell.

Another thing to make note of is the fact that Google’s Android is quickly becoming one of the most used mobile platforms in the world and will most likely overtake the two in the coming months and/or years.
