Well, fall is finally here and you know what that means: candy, pie, raking leaves, and partaking of farmers’ bounties. It also means that Mother Nature cannot make up her mind if it should be 90 degrees or 40 degrees outside. To aid in your morning debate about long johns or shorts, we have four weather apps to help you figure out what mood Ma Nature just might be in.

Hurricane
Hurricanes do more than just get odd names, they can trash a city with a might even Hulk would be envious of. Hurricane gives those of you living in hurricane zones great tools for monitoring items like wind speed, location, and five-day forecasts of Hurricane Jimbo. Those of you not content with only seeing current hurricane info are in for a treat as well, as Hurricane contains historical data on every hurricane dating all the way back to 1851 for the Atlantic, and 1949 for the Pacific.

This is Bigsool’s WeatherStation Free, and it is designed to be a quick check App for those who want a quick glance at the weather. It’s like Weather Bug and Weather Channel.

It gives users the temperature and weather conditions from NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). You’ll see the high and low of the day, as well as wind chill/heat index, wind speed, wind direction, humidity, barometer, and dewpoint.

Best of all, this is absolutely free.

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) CEO Eric Schmidt said that Google is planning to launch Google TV this fall. At the IFA technology trade fair in Berlin, Schmidt presented Google TV. Google TV puts a search bar at the top of the TV screen and allows users to surf the Internet. TV listings will also be placed on Google TV.

Google is working with multiple TV content providers for this new service. Applications built on top of this service will be available next year. Users will be able to change the channel using their voice using Google’s speech recognition technology as well.

We have reported on a lot of smartphone Apps (mostly Android) that use QR codes such as the Weather Channel App, Starbucks iPhone App, and the Shop Savvy App.

In Washington DC, you can get an up-to-date bus schedule just by using an augmented reality App on QRcodes like this. So if you wondering what is keeping your bus, just scan this thing, and you’ll have up-to-date traffic information on why your bus is late.

Now I might actually go ride the bus after all with something like this.

I’m not an Android user, so I don’t know what it is like not to have a customized lock screen on my phone.

However, if you want one, you can get LockBot, which will allow you to switch your Android screen to one like iPhone or HTC Hero lock screen. The user can customize it with photos from Flickr, Picasa Web, or the SD card.

This app is free, and you can go to my Source to scan the QR code to get it if you want to do it that way.
