Currently, more than 140,000 applications are available for the users of iPhone and iPod Touch. Many of the new customers of Apple iPad Slate enjoy a collection of applications that they accrued for use on the iPhone or iPod Touch. You also have an opportunity to sync your iPhone apps to the iPad with the help of iTunes. Below are the instructions for doing so:

Open iTunes

If you are in possession of an iPhone or iPod Touch, conceivably you have an iTunes account too.  If you don’t have iTunes on your PC, you can download the most advanced version free from the Apple website.

Back up your iPhone/iPod Touch Apps

Use a USB connector to join your iPhone or iPod Touch to your PC. The iTunes will perceive that your iPod has been connected and will add a line called ‘Devices’ under your library and store menus on the left hand side of iTunes. Devices column will be filled and the name that you have chosen to you iPhone or iPod Touch will appear. Now click on your device name to open your syncing options and click the sync button in lower right hand corner. This will make a back of all your apps to iTunes. After finishing the sync, you can disconnect your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Sync your iPhone/iPod Touch Apps to the iPad

Now join the iPad to your PC. The iPad will also be shown up in the devices menu of iTunes. Click it and select the Applications tab. Make a choice for the items you want to sync and pres the sync button in the lower right hand corner. Now your iPhone or iPod Touch applications will be synced to your iPad.

Make a Decision to View your Applications

After syncing your iPhone or iPod touch apps to iPad, you may run them in the actual size. This option will open up a screen of the size of the Touch screen within your iPad. You can also expand the app, so it fits your iPad Screen.

Most of the iPhone apps were designed with the minimum screen resolution needed to run efficiently in an iPhone sized screen, so by mounting the app to fit the 9.7” screen of the iPad. You may find that picture quality is not that good.  Luckily, the developers are already working to make apps with a screen resolution to match the iPad dimensions. You can choose yourself, which screen size optimum for your particular applications.

I know that Gorilla Glass has been used before on the Galaxy S series, and you can see it tested on the Dell Streak.

Sony is one of the biggest electronics manufacturers in the world but in their mark is felt even more in their home country of Japan. However, while some of their products such as cell phones, televisions and video game consoles have done quite well, the same can not be said about their line up of eReaders. Luckily, it looks like Sony isn’t ready to call it quits just yet.

Today, it was announced that the company will be relaunching their entire line of of Sony Reader devices on December 10th in Japan. According to reports, this launch includes both the Sony PRS-350 Pocket Edition and PRS-650 which will be sold for 20,000 yen ($239) and 25,000 yen ($299), respectievly.

It’s going to be interesting to see how this relaunched Sony Reader line up will do in the Land of the Rising Sun. Any Japanese readers looking to pick one up come December 10th?

As if it weren’t hard enough to stay off Twitter in the first place, the newly updated Twitter app is about to make it tougher than ever to deny the popular social networking service. The latest Twitter update is now live, and it includes the long-sought option to turn on push notifications for @mentions and direct messages. Depending on how popular you are, you may never get anything (other than Tweeting) accomplished ever again.

We’re unsure why it took Twitter so long to integrate such a highly-desired feature into the service, as this is the sort of thing people have been clamoring for ever since the Twitter app launched. After all, what’s the point in having a mostly narcissistic social media service if you can’t get instant gratification whenever someone mentions you or sends you a message? We may as well be living in the Stone Age!

Furthermore, this feature has been available for Blackberry for quite some time now, but it is just now appearing on the iPhone. That’s a bit strnge since normally iPhone apps are the first to be updated and then Blackberry and others follow along behind. Oh well, at least iOS users can feel superior to Android consumers, who still don’t have the feature available on their device.

Now the question becomes, do we want Twitter to start sending pushes every time someone we follow sends out a Tweet, or is that too much? Computer-based clients such as TweetDeck already offer such a feature, and while it can border on annoying at times, it’s also easy to keep track of when a new Tweet lands so you can stay up to date on the latest happenings. I suppose it depends on how many people you follow, as those with smaller social circles would likely enjoy reading what their friends have to say as they say it, whereas power users would be drowned under the constant tidal wave of pushes. Truly you’d have a hard time getting anything else accomplished. Still, this is a nice first step and one which many users are sure to cheer. If you haven’t updated your iPhone Twitter app then go ahead and do so, then promptly send out a Tweet telling everyone what you just did; because trust me, we all really care.
