After the Labor Day weekend, Stephen Colbert returned with a new episode to discuss the rally that Glenn Beck had on August 28th called “Restoring Honor.” About 87,000 people attended the rally in Washington D.C. The Reddit community then started an online petition of their own for Stephen Colbert to have his own Truthiness Rally to counteract Glenn Beck’s rally.
This led to a 100,000+ strong Facebook group for the rally and a new petition website called ColbertRally.com. Restoring Truthiness also became the top searched keyword on Google on the day that the new Colbert episode aired.
