While Google’s Android is an open source platform hardware manufacturers have been known to lock down their offerings to circumvent hacking. Luckily for those into rooting their devices this isn’t much of a problem seeing how developers are continuously hard at work unlocking this security but some phones prove themselves to be tougher to crack than others. HTC had a big announcement today with the Desire HD and the Desire Z Android phones, but they also have a new service with HTC Sense Interface.
This Sense UI includes an ability to switch more quickly amongst home screens and a graphical contacts list. It also includes a locations application for finding nearby attractions using footprints, and also includes the ability to apply effects to photos and an aged sepia-tone look.
Another improvement is the mapping feature which includes zooming and panning operations, as well as a built-in compass.
All in all, it sounds pretty good, and even includes the Kobo e-reader software.

We have reported a lot about the i-Surgery app, the iSurgeon game, and how a Surgeon Performs Surgery with iPhone SMS Assistance.
You would think that the iPad would be a good mobile tool for surgeons, but Dell seems to be making a bigger splash with the Streak. The Streak has a healthcare software App, not to mention the dual cameras.
I wonder how this will work out for Dell and the field of medicine. We shall see.

While everyone knows that the iPhone 4 is a beautiful device, they also know that in order to function properly it pretty much requires a case. As we’ve told you many times in the past, holding the device with your left hand may cause a drop in signal – something has displeased many.
Luckily, Apple themselves gave out free cases to remedy the problem but the offerings were decently slim. However, if you choose to pick out a case for yourself, there are many different options you can choose from. Today, one such option was made known with the iPhone 4 case that doubles as a wallet. Made by Trtl Bot, this case dubbed the Minimalist 4, will allow consumers to pack their driver’s license, credit cards, money and other things normally kept in a wallet all into the case. This will prove useful to those who want to keep as few things as possible in their pockets while walking around.
There’s no word on when the case will be made available but we do know that it’s up for pre-order now at $29.99.
