Similar to the Kindle Lending Program that we discussed a few weeks back, this is the gift-giving program, designed for the holidays.
As you can see from the above diagram, the user can essentially choose from 725,000 books, then use a “give as a gift” option on anyone with an e-mail address. This book can be read on Kindle, or a number of reading apps.
It is the first major bookseller to be offering this service. I wonder if Barnes and Noble will be doing something similar on the Nook Color.

Some of you might remember when we discussed a rumor of a Palm dual-screen, keyboard-less phone. Now there is another rumor: Palm is making a “Mansion” with a 5-inch display.
This WVGA display is said to have a resolution of 480 x 500, which is comparable to the Dell Streak.
That still 2-inches shy of the Galaxy Tab, meaning that this Mansion is a large phone or small tablet.
We’ll see if this gets off the ground.

We have discussed wooden backs or cases for the iPhone before, like the Handmade bamboo one, Karvt’s iPhone 4 case, and the Gresso iPhone with a wooden back.
Our friends over at Gizmodo have somehow got a hold of Material 6′s iPhone 4 replacement backplates, and they are going ape over them. They enjoy exchanging the glass blacking for wood, and appreciate the new aesthetic.
These iPhone cases sell for about $90.
