Flight Simulators had a boom in the 90’s. Today, there are still some known Simulators like Flight Simulator X from Microsoft. But that’s just a minority. You could think that the genre is dead, but there are still many fans but not anymore so much Games. In the AppStore, theres a new boom of Flight Simulators. In this review I’m going to test 5 of them and find the best. So let’s see which one is the best.

BiiPlane: ($0,99)

Description: You play a little RC-Controlled Plane. It flies the whole time in a round Parkour and has to collect some presents hanging on a hot-air-balloon.

Controls: Accelerates itself, you don’t have to control the speed.  Every level you fly a little bit faster. If you collect Orange presents you fly a little bit faster too. You can fly up and down, left and right with tilting your Device.

Graphics: Minimalistic, no details like Gras etc.

Negative Aspects: There’s no break after the end of a level and it has no Multiplayer.

Result: BiiPlane is a funny game but after a few levels the game gets a little bit monotone.

Sky Racer 2: ($1,99)

Description: You fly in clear landscape with different planes. It’s the first game which which has more than 1 plane. There are different exercises like fly through checkpoints like a dolphin.

Controls: There are options to accelerate / brake, but it didn’t work for me :( . Up and Down, Left and Right works with tilting. The planes are different hard to control. The easiest is the Aero L-29 Delfin. The handling is very realistic.

Graphics: You can change the weather and it looks exiting. The planes have small details and look completly different.

Negative Aspects: The controls are hard to learn

Result: Makes fun, is varied and has a good motivation

WingsEarth: ($1,99)

Description: You can choose between a glyder and a plane and fly in a Landscape without any mission.

Controls: When you tap on the screen, a small menu pops up and you can accelerate with a slider. Also you can switch – glyder or plane. Up and down works as always with tilting your device.

Graphics: Before you start a game you can choose a landscape: White, brown or green mountains. Sometimes you can see a river and that was it. No more Details.

Negative Aspects: Monotone! And there’s an ad when you start the game – No go for paid Apps.

Result: The game has no sense expect flying so you get the feeling that you gave 2$ for 10 Minutes fun.

RC Plane: ($0,99)

Description: You fly a Radio Controlled Plane on a farm and you mustn’t get out of the RC range. That’s it.

Controls: Either you can control it like a real RC Plane with Buttons on your Display or you can tilt your Device. You should configure it in the settings because it reacts to fast

Graphics: The graphics aren’t really exciting, there are too less details. Low point of view.

Negative Aspects: The game has no real sense, Controls are strong, poor graphics.

Result: It’s not the money worth!

In my opinion, Sky Racer 2 makes most fun because it has different planes, different Game Modes and different settings. Also the graphics are the best on my iPhone 3G even if it’s sometimes lagging. The other games are too monotone, however all are should be good enough to have 10 minutes fun. RC Plane will need many updates until you can control it so, that it makes a little bit fun.

Many of us lack musical talent.  But we want and need to be heard. And here comes the newest app from Smule called Glee.
The Glee app allows users to sing songs from the official soundtrack of Glee show, record their songs and share them with friends.
The app looks like the next big success of Smule. In fact it is the coolest app by Smule that I have tried. I’m not a great singer but the app make me sing and love it! The app corrects the quality of the song in realtime by enhancing the voice and adding a second, third, and even fourth voice to the song. And if you don’t want to sing alone and want others to join your song, you can share your song with your friends over email, Facebook, MySpace or Twitter. As your friends join your songs, those voices will be added.
The app is available for iPhone and iPad and priced at $2.99

I have a good friend who is a theoretical physicist and an avid juggler, so, naturally, she was the first person I thought of as I was playing with an app that features a juggling Einstein puppet. From the title, you might imagine BodySnatcher to be a much more sinister app than it actually [...]

According to this app, I’m ranked third in the world for my trivia knowledge. Huh? Something ain’t right here. Now to be fair, I -am- pretty good at trivia, but in a “I dominate at Trivial Pursuit on family night” sense, not an “I’ll take Potent Potables for a thousand, Alex.” [...]
