Andy Rubin took some time to speak at the Droid X unveiling yesterday, and he gave some interesting figures.
Apparently, 100,000 Android devices were being sold per day last month. As for this month, 160,000 devices are being sold daily. Okay, that is a big leap. Those might not be iPhone 4 numbers, but enough to show that Android has a pretty strong share in the mobile phone market.
Also incomparable with the iPhone are the number of Android apps, which are at about 65,000. I believe that the number of iPhone Apps are in the millions.
However, and on a side note, I believe that Droid X can kick some serious Apple 4 booty when it gets released. And now that Froyo (Android 2.2) is out, nothing can stop Google Android now.
