itoner icon Getting Wild with iPhone RingtonesNow that we have a jailbreak for our iPhones again I have been pouring through the selections to see what I really want on my iPhone 4 and one of my biggest items is ringtones. Most everyone loves to customize their device and what better way to make it truly unique than to add your own selection of ringtones.

Cydia’s ringtone subsection is pretty extensive with many songs, sound effects and TV show themes to choose from and download right into your primary system ring tone list… Read More

inq spotify 280x207 INQ to make handset with built in Spotify? The last time we were talking about INQ, they could be working on a Facebook phone with Android.

I have just learned from INQ’s CEO Frank Meehan that the company plans to put Spotify on their new cellphone. Spotify enables the user to search as well as play tracks from a massive catalog via 3G or WiFi. Subscribers should be able to download over 3,333 song directly to their phones.

Considering that the INQ Chat 3G comes with Twitter, Facebook, and Skype, it doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch, does it?

gingerdroid 193x280 Gingerbread (Android 3.0) to get video calling feature? Not much is known about Gingerbread, the Version 3.0 of Android, but I have recently heard that it will be equipped for video calling.

Andy Rubin has stated that:

We support video chat today, with Google Talk Video. It works on the desktop. Whether that can be repurposed and made appropriate for sipping bandwidth for mobile, it’s an exercise that’s underway.

This is a pretty good point about video conferencing available for Android versions 2.0 and greater. I can only assume that version 3.0 could be built for it. This is assuming that anyone wants Facetime-style video conferencing.

oldmobilephone 280x194 Check out this Mobile Phone from 1964I thought I would post this just to let you know that the mobile era of phones didn’t start in the last decade.

In fact, this particular phone was made in 1964, and there were 1.5 mobile phones made then. They were “rugged, shock-proof, vacuum-tubed rigs that used nearby radio waves, built so powerfully that car headlights dimmed when you talked”.

If you ask me, it looks like Maxwell Smart’s shoe. Imagine showing someone from the mid-sixties what our phones can do now!
