Google’s open source Android mobile platform is quickly finding its way onto a whole variety of different devices. While devices like the Samsung Galaxy S and HTC EVO 4G have proven themselves to be massively popular and more than capable, a do-it-all, go-to Android powered tablet has yet to arrive. Some may say this title can be held by the 7-inch Froyo powered Samsung Galaxy Tab but others beg to differ.
Not too long ago at the Dive Into Mobile event, Google’s Andy Rubin took center stage to give us a short demonstration of the new Google Maps. Normally this would have been run off the mill had Rubin not showed the new software off on an extremely sexy looking prototype Motorola tablet – powered by Android 3.0 nonetheless. While we only got a glimpse of the device during the demonstration, a new set of pictures has arrived giving us a new look at the device. While not much is seen that we don’t already know, the device is shown wearing the Verizon branding which has led us to obviously assume that the tablet will be coming to this carrier at some point next year.
Spec wise it seems that previous rumors are to be believed with a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 32GB of storage and a 10-inch 1280 x800 display are all on board. While I’ve long been a supporter of the iPad, this unnamed Motorola Tablet may be just what the doctor ordered.
