One of the most highly anticipated phones expected to launch in the next couple of months is the Motorola Atrix 4G. Running AT&T’s 4G network, the Atrix is set to include things like the NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 1080p video recording with a software update after launch and that highly sought after laptop dock we’ve been hearing so much about.
However, while we’ve heard quite a bit about both the phone and its laptop dock, what we haven’t heard of is a solid release date or price point. Luckily, the Wall Street Journal has stepped forth to fill in the blanks claiming AT&T themselves told them of the device’s price tag and release date. Apparently, AT&T will begin accepting Motorola Atrix pre-orders on February 13th with an actual release date of March 3rd. Price wise the Atrix is said to run the $199.99 with a 2-year contract or $499.99 with the included laptop dock.
Pricey, yes, but when you consider that you’re essentially getting a full fledged laptop along with a high powered smartphone for $499.99 things start to make a bit more sense. Then again, this isn’t even officially confirmed so take it with a grain of salt until it is.

Much of the hype coming out of LG’s smartphone department is surrounding the glasses-free 3D screen touting Optimus 3D. However, just because this device has continuously made headlines doesn’t mean it’s the only smartphone LG has in the pipeline. In fact, T-Mobile UK has just put up a teaser page for the LG Optimus Black which you can see in the above screen shot.
If you’ve been paying attention you may remember that the LG Optimus Black was announced back during this year’s CES complete with Google’s Android (2.2 but expected to ship with 2.3) and a 4-inch NOVA display. If you’re not familiar with this display, LG it is said to be considerably brighter and more power efficient than a comparable LCD display.
Sounds pretty good to me. No word on a North American release but we’ll keep you posted.

There are many different Android powered tablets currently on the market but the arguable best bang for your buck comes from the Nook Color. Originally destined to be an eBook Reader, the Nook Color features a 7-inch display, 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, built-in WiFi and ships with a customized Google’s Android ‘Froyo‘ 2.2. Upon taking it out of the box the Nook Color may not act like a typical tablet at all but thanks to some clever hacking it becomes a full featured $250 tablet.
In fact, it seems as if the Nook Color has been getting more buzz as a hackaable tablet than it has as an actual eReader. According to recent reports, Barnes & Noble is none too pleased by this and have halted sales of the product. The reason for this, again according to reports, is that Barnes & Noble may be looking to release a “hack-proof” model.
If this is true, it most likely wouldn’t be long until the community hacked this hack-proof device but we can’t even confirm its existence until Barnes & Noble comes forth to say more. Expect an announcement soon.

One of the biggest announcements during this year’s CES was the HTC Thunderbolt. This Android 2.2 powered device features a 4.3-inch display, 1GHz Snapdragon Processor, 768MB of RAM, 8 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and 720p video capture, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and 8GB of internal storage. It is also one of the first smartphones to run on Verizon’s newly rolled out 4G LTE network.
Unfortunately if you’re looking to get your hands on this device you may be waiting quite some time, or no time at all as we don’t know exactly when it will be shipping. Luckily, the folks over at BGR have gotten their hands on a Best Buy periodical that clearly shows the HTC Thunderbolt as you can see above, with the words “coming soon”.
Coming how soon, is the question. We’ll keep you posted.

The DreamPlug is an interesting device that is essentially a portable computer, only there is no video card for any output.
Its purpose is to provide the user with space enough for programs. It has a Marvell Sheeva 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, as well as a lot of ports.
Normally, these type of computers have one plug, but this one has plenty with 2x Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000 Mbps ports, 2x USB 2.0 ports, 1x eSATA 2.0 port, a 1x SD socket for user expansion, not to mention WiFi and Bluetooth.
The DreamPlug is available for $149, and it will ship later in this month.
