A few days ago we told you about how AT&T slapped Verizon in the face by ridiculing Big Red and the fact that the iPhone on Verizon can’t make calls while surfing the web. At the time, I predicted this was just the beginning of hostilities between the two giant.
Yesterday Verizon stroke back by launching their very first commercial for the iPhone. Simple, short, and brilliant, this TV ad makes fun of AT&T in just 6 words: “yes, I can hear you now”. Obviously this is a shot at AT&T’s poor network… (…) Read the rest of Verizon Strikes Back at AT&T with New iPhone TV Ad
Verizon started taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4 earlier today. While I suspect they won’t sell as many as AT&T did in the past on their first day, I’m still pretty sure some of you will jump ships and leave AT&T for a supposedly better carrier.
Please take a few seconds of your time to take this poll, and let us know if you have or intend to pre-order a iPhone 4 with Big Red today… (…) Read the rest of Poll: Did You Pre-Order a Verizon iPhone 4?
If you’ve been paying attention you’ll know that just the other day we told you that an unofficial Android Honeycomb port had been released for the Barnes & Noble Nook Color eBook reader. At the time, things were working pretty solidly minus the fact that the port did not support sound. Luckily, the break neck speed at which the community works has produced an update for the port which is available now.
While the chances of Barnes & Noble actually releasing an offiical Honeycomb built for the Nook Color remain quite slim, unofficial ports like these make the eReader one of the most affordable tablets on the market. Of course, it doesn’t have the NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor or camera but you you can’t really complain when it runs just $249.99 with no contract whatsoever.
If you’ve been paying attention you’ll probably know that Google held a special event today that further detailed their highly anticipated tablet-centric Android Honeycomb. During the event the search engine giant took the time to give us an in depth look at everything from Honeycomb’s notification bar to the actual devices that will be powered by it – such as the Motorola Xoom.
However, seeing how many of you hold a typical 9-5 job chances are you may have missed it. While we did cover a ton of the stuff that was announced during this event, perhaps you want a bit more detail. Well lucky for you, Google has just uploaded the entire Honeycomb event to YouTube in the form of a 53 minute long video.
If you’ve got the time, be sure to check it out as Android Honeycomb is really shaping up to be a killer platform.
Apple has just announced that tomorrow morning’s early Verizon iPhone pre-orders will be available through its online Store as well — starting at 3AM, available to current VZW subscribers only, and sold on a first-come, first-served basis. More pertinent news, however, can be found deeper in the company’s press release, which states that pre-orders will be opened up to the general public on February 9th, when you’ll be able to reserve or have one delivered on launch day, February 10th. Shops will open their doors early, 7AM — matching AT&T’s early opening for the iPhone 4′s original launch way back in June — and availability will be broad, encompassing Apple’s brick and mortar Stores, Verizon’s 2,000+ retail locations, select partners, and even a zany 1-800-2 JOIN IN phone number you can call. So, really, the only people left without a Verizon iPhone on February 11th should be those that don’t actually want one.
