samsung galaxy tab Samsung Refutes Galaxy Tab Return Rate Statements, Says They’re Actually Below 2%

The Samsung Galaxy Tab was pretty much the first big name Android powered tablet to hit the scene. However, seeing how it shipped with Android 2.2 and not the highly anticipated Android Honeycomb the tablet failed to give the iPad a much needed run for its money. In fact, we told you just a few days ago that the return rates for the Samsung Galaxy Tab were around 15% – a quite high number in the tech world.

Well, not happy with these statements Samsung has come forth to refute them going so far as to say they were completely wrong. In fact, according to the popular electronics company, the return rate for the Samsung Galaxy tab is actually below 2% which is quite the difference from the previously announced 15%.

Below are the words of Samsung:

“The return rate of the Galaxy Tab in the US as claimed by an North American market research firm is incorrect. According to Samsung Electronics Mobile Communications Business the return rate is below 2 percent.”

So, the Samsung Galaxy Tab may not be getting returned as much as we originally thought but that doesn’t mean it’s selling like hot cakes either. Let’s just hope the Galaxy Tab 2 will be powered by Android Honeycomb and will make the tablet line up shine like the original was expected to.

galaxy s 4g 291x630 138x300 T Mobile Announces the Galaxy S 4G, officiallyThis announcement is quite recent, but T-Mobile has announced the successor of the Vibrant with the Galaxy S 4G. This is just seven months after the Vibrant has been released, by the way.

The phone will have “theoretical peak download speeds of up to 21 Mbps”, with a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen, 16GB of internal memory, and Android 2.2.

Also on board is T-mobile video chat powered by Qik, mobile HD TV for streaming shows and sports games, not to mention the awesome movie Inception preloaded on board. It sounds similar to the Sidekick that we saw.

The phone is expected to be out in the month of February, but I don’t see a price as yet.

samsungfascinate Samsung Fascinate Android ‘Froyo’ 2.2 Update Gets Leaked

If you’ve been following the Android world you’re sure to know that the Samsung Galaxy S has seen more delays when it comes to the version 2.2 (aka Froyo) update than we can count. Luckily, things have been picking up for the device’s various iterations and Samsung has been able to push Android 2.2 to some, but not all, of the Galaxy S phones here in the United States. Unfortunately, if you’re an owner of the Samsung Fascinate for Verizon, you’ve been left in the dust thus far.

However, you may also know that there were rumors of an Android 2.2 update leaking but has since been withheld by those who received said leak. Now it seems that the leak has been released to the public and according to reports is completely authentic. This means Samsung’s TouchWiz UI is here along with everything Verizon typically installs on their phone – including Bing.

Anyways, if you want to grab the download and give it a go head here but remember, proceed at your own risk.
