When I last reported on the Pandigital Novel, I was looking forward to an e-reader with a full-color screen.
Now, from what I have heard from reports by places like Kohl’s, it has some serious problems. In fact, the store is doing some sort of recall which will allow buyers of the e-reader to return it.
Well, I wish I could say otherwise. My Source traces the problem with firmware, but that can be updated. Let’s hope that is the only error going on.
When the JooJoo, aka CrunchPad, went with Linux, I’m sure there were many Windows 7 users who wanted otherwise.
Fortunately, this user managed to hack Windows 7 onto the JooJoo with nothing but the stock hardware, and even has 720p movie playback. The touchpad is working though, and his battery life is good for four hours on a full charge. Sadly, it does incapacitate the 3G and accelerometer.
Something tells me that this won’t be the last of the JooJoo and Windows 7 mash-ups.
Yes, you heard it right, there are 10,000 iPad apps available now.
Considering that it took five months for there to be that many Apps for the iPhone/iPod Touch, I would say that is a somewhat impressive number. Just to let you know, the iPhone has 225,000 total apps, with three quarters of them being paid ones.
The iPad also has a similar number with 78 percent of all apps being paid ones.
It is free for a limited time, and something tells me that 100 percent price cut is a result of a certain World Cup that is going on. Apparently, the gameplay involves using kicking skills to score many shots from the penalty spot with progressively difficult goalies.
I have no idea how long the “limited time” is for this free game, so you might want to get in on this action now.
I really hope that I don’t sound like a non-professional when I say that I have never heard of the Droid X until I saw these. I’ve heard of both the Shadow and the Droid 2, and I’ve reported on the spy shots for those.
I suppose it is only appropriate that I report on these bad boy. The Droid X is the one to the far left, and this shot is merely a size comparison for the HTC EVO 4G and the iPhone 3G S. I have specs for the X, but they are only rumored: it includes a 750-MHZ TI OMAP 3630 CPU and HDMI out. That screen has to be above 4.3 inches, at least.
