I’ve made a custum firmware for the iphone 3G (so Jailbreaking the 3.0 is not necessairy anymore). And the moment ultrasn0w is getting out for unlocking, you just download it with the installed cydia. Very easy to do.
firmwareversion is 3.0
Include in the firmware is cydia and icy (for downloading a lot of free applications and games etc)
downloads (itunes 8.2 and the custom firmware)

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) First backup your iphone totally
download itunes 8.2 from link below
2) put your iphone in DFU mode
– connect your iphone and open itunes
– push the homebutton and powerbutton at the same time
– after 10 seconds, release the powerbutton
– keep holding the home button just till itunes shows a screen that an iphone is found in recoverymode
– the screen off your iphone is black for the moment, that’s normal!
3) Now go in itunes and keep holding the shift button and click on restore.
4) Now go to the location where you have download the custom firmware and select the firmware
5) Now wait for a moment and your iphone 3G has the new firmware installed, jailbroken and cydia installed.
