Android – Iphone – Applications

I’m not certain if the iPad is supposed to be so much of a “game-changer” that it will replace laptops, but if you want your laptop functionality back, you can use the ClamCase.

You can attach the iPad to the ClamCase, and you will have a keyboard attached via Bluetooth. As you can see from the picture, the ClamCase doubles as a stand with which you can prop up your iPad.

The ClamCase will launch in the fall, but I don’t have a price.

Thanko has been putting out some interesting gizmos and gadgets for years, so it is no wonder they have this development: a tripod for a laptop.

At first I wondered what you would use this for, but I realized that if you ever have to make stand up presentations, it probably would be handy to have that laptop in front of you.

If this is something that “floats your boat”, so to speak, then you should be able to get it at the Thanko site for about $20.

There are a lot of tablets out that could be potential iPad killers, and the latest is the Mastone Lifespad 3G.

This has a 1Ghz Freescale CPU, 512MB of DDR2 RAM, as well as a 3G module. It also has the power of Android, and the version is 2.1.

Of course, there are a lot of iPad clones coming out, and so it is only a matter of time before someone makes a good one.

This iScrub Lite 1.5 is an interesting App that allows the user to enter in data on hand hygiene maintenance and compliance.

In other words, it makes certain that you wash your hands. If you are a doctor or a baker, this is important. Well, I suppose that this is needed.

Best of all, the iScrub App is completely free.

Something mysterioius happened at the New York Stock Exchange yesterday. Sometime during the morning, about a third of the handheld devices on the NYSE floor stopped working, for about 45 minutes.

Is it just me, or am I a little scared by this? Maybe it’s the fragile economy that spooks me into worrying about anyone tampering with NYSE. Maybe I have seen the movie The Net a few too many times, or other films where outlandish villains have some crazy master plan.
