mzl.xfwcjpqc.100x100 75 Peeling Back The Layers Of The OnionSince its satirical news reporting hit the streets in the late 80’s, the Onion has become a fun place to check out what’s going on in the world. Commenting on current events, both actual and made-up, the Onion responds to domestic and international stories… Yet through all of its humor, the online newspaper allows for one of its sections, called the A.V. Club, to listen to interviews and read reviews on up-to-date issues. In addition, the print edition of the Onion provides its readers with weekly restaurant reviews and live entertainment posts. But wait! There’s more… on June 11, 2010, the Onion developed an application for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch in hopes that its devoted customers could take their parody newspaper wherever they go. Despite the variety and density in the newspaper’s website, the application gives you a condensed version of it. Check out recent videos, choose one of the six shows to watch more clips, look up the editor’s picks, or even see the latest Sasquatch videos, the Onion application provides a lot, but no where near as much as their website. Hopefully within the next few stages of development, developers will make the app as entertaining and dense as its website.
