Grab your hunting rifle and let’s shoot some deer! Or bulls, if you’d like! Originally an arcade game, Big Buck Hunter Pro has arrived in the form of an app! For only $0.99, you can shoot deer and bulls with the touch of your finger! But be sure not to shoot the does or cows!
Play with up to four players! When the game is first purchased, you hunt whitetail deer. Then you choose your location: West Virginia, Illinois, or Minnesota! At each location, you get the chance to hunt the deer at five different areas! Aim for the head and heart to rack up more points! And when “critters” get in the way—wolves, squirrels, and rabbits—shoot them also to get more points! After finishing all five areas of a location, a fun bonus level can be played! And if you want, there is even a “Bonus Only” section in the main menu! One more thing… if you love the game and want to find an arcade version in your area, there’s a button for that on the main menu also! Note: pressing this button will exit you out of the game.
Mind that this is not a phenomenal game. It’s an adaptation of a simple arcade game. The size of the game is very limited, as is it processing speed. And having the opportunity to hunt bulls costs an additional $1.99. But for $0.99, it’s simply a ball being able to play a game that could once only be played in an arcade. So… shoot away! Hunting season is on!

The size and functionality of the iPad are not the only things that make it newsworthy. While children’s apps went largely dismissed by iPhone users, apps for kids and families are absolutely eating up the top 100 of iPad apps. It truly seems that the iPad is becoming the future of family gaming.
One reason for this is the fact that the iPad is not as personal a device as the iPhone. While it can certainly be used for personal reasons, its size makes it an ideal device to share, and one that could easily entertain many kids at once. Additionally, the storage space and sheer amount of apps out there ensures that every unique individual can be satisfied.
Furthermore, the nature of the iPad and its family-friendly apps ensure that the games are incredibly low-risk. This means that the days of easily-ingestible parts are gone, and there will be no need to re-paint those parts of the walls where the kids got a little too ambitious with the finger paint. The iPad allows very controlled environments for coloring and playing games, and easily allows the parents to manage the apps their kids are exposed to. Additionally, once a family has an iPad, there is no need to go out and buy expensive games; all of the apps are very economically sound, and the risk of losing or damaging games is significantly lower than with traditional setups.
So, if you’re a new parent struggling with how to entertain your family, the iPad is something that is definitely worth looking into. If nothing else, it will ensure a fun time and some peace of mind.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has filed for a patent that implies that they are interested in the possibility of placing 3D widgets on the OS dashboard. It appears that Apple is interested in placing these 3D widgets on the Mac operating system given that the Dock appears at the bottom of the patent drawing. Another reason why this patent is interesting is because Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) recently bought a company that specializes in 3D desktops called BumpTop. [Patently Apple]
