When you start looking for a case it can seem that there are more choices than there are iPad owners. There is an ocean of options: hard, soft, ultra-protection, ultra-stylish, colorful, classy, low-cost, high-dollar. Well, you get the idea.
It helps to narrow the search by defining your criteria. For instance, right now I’m looking for a case that offers some protection but still makes it easy to remove the iPad for use, say when sitting in a coffeehouse. It must look at least as good as a naked iPad, and have some personality. Since I already own Apple’s basic iPad case, this time I’m leaning more towards form over function.
Who wants another “me-too” case? It’s time for something awesome, something that makes a statement. After looking around, here is a selection of unique cases with “personality” written all over them. (…) Read the rest of Unique iPad Cases Made for Personal Style

My Artists attempts to replace iPod.app with its gorgeous, artists-centric music playing app. While it integrates wonderfully with the iPod/iPhone experience (largely courtesy of iOS 4.0) and I love many of its features, My Artists isn’t perfect…yet.
My Artists pulls in your iPod’s entire library (just like the iPod.app would) and lists all of your artists. The UI is beautiful and very visual-oriented…dare I say it looks better than the iPod?
It’s also artist-centric, rather than song-centric. My Artists takes each artist and creates a page that integrates photos, text (think Wikipedia bios), and a full listing of the artist’s other music. So, for example, when I choose Tegan and Sara, I can play one of the albums that I have, read their bio, or check out their other albums and songs via integrated YouTube videos (an internet connection is required, of course). The app can also recommend music to you based on last.fm listings.
This all looks great, so much so that I almost wonder why Apple hasn’t copied this. Better yet, it’s fully integrated with iOS 4: usual volume controls work, multitasking is supported, and the app will even pick up the song you were playing before launch.
Now for the bad news. There’s absolutely no Playlist support — it’s like being stuck in the Artists tab forever. Genius is absent, and listening to single songs or mixes is difficult…this is really meant for Artists and their complete albums. At first, I also experienced some crashes and general lag. A few reboots cured that issue.
That being said, My Artists is a gorgeous app and in many ways it outshines the default iPod app. If you can live without playlists and long for artist-centric eye candy, My Artists can easily replace iPod.app. Now that’s an impressive feat.

I’m not certain if this has anything to do with IFA, but Panasonic announced two of their TOUGHBOOK models. They are the makers of the TOUGHBOOK H1, TOUGHBOOK 52, which just got an upgrade.
One of them is the TOUGHBOOK CF 31, and it is loaded with lots of features. It has a 13.1 inch screen with XGA resolution (1,024 x 768) and LED backlight, Core i5-520M (2.40 GHz) CPU, Intel QM57 Express chip set, 160 GB HDD, 2GB of memory Wi-Fi, and Windows 7.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a TOUGHBOOK if it wasn’t tough, and it is. It is drop resistant up to 120 centimeters, and it is dust resistant and waterproof.
Panasonic plans on selling this in Japan as early as tomorrow, for $5,400.

I believe that the Samsung Galaxy Tab is the toast of the town at IFA, but Toshiba’s Folio 100 also made an appearance as well.
It had what we expected, the 1024 x 600 10.1 inch touchscreen, Tegra 2, 16GB of storage, HDMI out, 802.11 WiFi, SD card slot, and a 1.3 Megapixel webcam.
It also has Android 2.2, plus 7 hours of regular battery use. It should have a bundle more under the hood as well.
According to my Source, the suggested retail price will be €399. Can that new, yet to be made, Samsung tablet do any better?

In addition to the TOUGHBOOK CF31, as well as others in the TOUGHBOOK Series like the H1 and 52, today is the release of the TOUGHBOOK C19.
The TOUGHBOOK CF19 has a 10.1 inch screen with XGA resolution, Core i5-540M (1.20 GHz) CPU, Intel QM57 Express chip set, 160 GB HDD, 2GB of memory Wi-Fi, and Windows 7.
Of course, it is pretty tough for a TOUGHBOOK. It is drop resistant up to 90 centimeters, and it is dust resistant and waterproof.
Panasonic plans on selling this in Japan as early as tomorrow, for $3,680.
