Nokia may not be in the news as much as Android or the iPhone but that doesn’t mean they are a small company by any means. In fact, thanks to their international marketshare, Nokia is one of the world’s largest cellphone manufacturers.
Now that Nokia has a new main-man, the company is looking to bring their offerings up to date. One such device that looks to do this is the Nokia X7. Like Nokia’s past devices, many have wondered if the X7 will be offered unlocked and overlooked by wireless carriers. Luckily, the Nokia X7 has appeared today sporting none other than AT&T’s branding.
No word on when this device will actually be made available but as always, we’ll keep you posted.

We’ve got a new phone to talk about today, folks–a fresh one out of the AT&T / Motorola crew, the Motorola Bravo. And like a lot of smartphones today, you’ll find it offering up plenty of great value. It won’t be perfect, of course–precious little even comes close–but I think you’ll like what’s on tap here.
The Motorola Bravo is a PDA style smartphone running Android 2.1. You’ll also get GPS systems, a 3.7 inch touchscreen display, a USB port, microSD card, mobile web, mobile email, text, multimedia and instant messaging capability, 3.5mm headset jack, a variety of features specific to Google like Gmail, Google Talk, Google Voice Search and Google Maps with Navigation, support for the main three messenger tools (AOL IM, Yahoo IM and MSN / Windows Live Messenger), AT&T radio, AT&T Maps / Navigator (which actually charges you $9.99 for turn by turn directions), an MP3 player, a video player, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, speakerphone, calculator, a three megapixel camera, and a battery that will yield eight hours of talk time on a single charge.
You can see right off, there are a lot of features in here. And any time there are a lot of features in a phone you know it’s going to be worthwhile. There’s plenty of battery life here, and even does nicely with the controls. There truly isn’t much wrong here; in fact about the only negative thing you can say about this phone comes when you look at where they’ve put the SD card slot. It’s buried back behind the battery, and it’s pretty inconvenient, though this is a small price to pay for an otherwise solid phone.
The Motorola Bravo is exactly that–a solid phone. There’s next to nothing to say about that this phone that might be construed as bad. It’s a nice piece, and should provide most everything you want.
The Good
Lots of great features
Terrific battery life
The Bad
Poorly placed microSD card slot
Score 9 / 10

Of course, I think we all know that iPhone users’ enmity with AT&T is the stuff of convention, but now their is raw data to justify it.
According to a recent survey by Consumer Reports readers, the carrier rates at the lowest amongst customers. The were in this order: U.S. Cellular, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile.
Naturally, AT&T doesn’t feel too good about it. They issued this official statement:
We take this seriously and we continually look for new ways to improve the customer experience. The fact is wireless customers have choices and a record number of them chose AT&T in the third quarter, significantly more than our competitors. Hard data from independent drive tests confirms AT&T has the nation’s fastest mobile broadband network with our nearest competitor 20 percent slower on average nationwide and our largest competitor 60 percent slower on average nationwide. And, our dropped call rate is within 1/10 of a percent—the equivalent of just one call in a thousand—of the industry leader.
Man, that Verizon iPhone is starting to look really good now.
