Description:

Capturing and sharing your inner most creative genius has never been easier. Introducing the first multi-device collaboration tool from Universal Mind. From iPhone to iPad with just a flick of the finger, iBrainstorm has set the bar and has redefined the very nature of collaboration.

Think it. Share it. Love it!

=========
Look for our other iBrainstorm app for the iPhone – iBrainstorm Companion! iBrainstorm Companion is used to connect to a running session of iBrainstorm on the iPad. It gives up to 4 people, the ability to create ideas on their iPhones and ‘flick’ them over to the iPad! It makes the brainstorming process engaging and fun. Give it a try!

=========
We created iBrainstorm as a pet project and it quickly elevated to an integral part of our normal User Experience Design (UX) process. It is now a part of our best practices in our methodology. We’ve decided to share this product with the UX community and hope that you’ll find it as valuable as we do!

The design of this application was based around the way that we work at Universal Mind. We expect you to have other use cases and needs. Help us to make iBrainstorm better by giving it a strong rating and sharing your thoughts on improving it. We’ll do our best to support your requests and questions in a timely manner.

=========
Usage Tips
=========
For the best connectivity between iBrainstorm and iBrainstorm Companion:
• use a wifi local connection

If there is no wifi connection available:
• turn off wifi on all devices
• turn on Bluetooth on all devices
• start the iPad session first, click on the connection icon – second from the right – and then launch your iPhone apps

If you are using iOS4:
• if you close your iPhone app while running a session, you’ll have approximately 20-30 seconds to restart the app and maintain your session. If the session drops, force quit the app from your background processes and restart it. You’ll need to press the connect button in iBrainstorm on your iPad.

Disney Releases Free Tron App

Iphone | 35 views No Comments »

2010 is shaping up to be the year of Tron, with Tron: Legacy set to hit theaters near the end of 2010. While it is still five months away, Disney is getting the hype train for Tron: Legacy started up immediately, and one part of this push is the release of a Tron app for the iPhone and iPod touch. While the standard features like movie trailers and information on tie-in products are included, there is one huge and compelling inclusion to the app – the Tanks Arcade game.

Tron Gameplay 300x200 Disney Releases Free Tron AppThis is a reimagining of the Battle Tanks mode of the Tron arcade game as something more resembling a dual-stick shooter. There’s a singleplayer mode that gives you 15 levels to play through that teach you how the game’s mechanics and upgrade system work, as well as providing a reasonable challenge. The real meat here is the online multiplayer mode, which lets you take part in 2, 4, or 6 player deathmatches. It isn’t strictly a free for all, though – you choose from a blue, green, or red faction, and in online games, people of the same faction are your teammates, and the kills you accumulate go towards your faction’s overall progress. It’s a great mechanic for an iPhone game, and makes it more than just a random deathmatch game.

Tron Gameplay 2 300x200 Disney Releases Free Tron AppWhat hasn’t been mentioned is that this app, with the Arcade Tanks game and all, is free to download. Disney also promises more features (both free and premium) to come as Tron: Legacy nears release. As well, for those attending San Diego Comic-Con this week, the app will unlock features for those who show up to the ComiTRON booth (Aisle #3172) and use the app. Disney will be showing off a lot of Tron: Legacy related content at the convention, which we hope to show off to you (as well as anything else iOS related) as it happens at SDCC.

FMGO 300x224 FileMaker Go Aims To Boost Remote Database Use For BusinessUsers of the popular database application FileMaker now have a new way to access important information while away from the office. The freshly launched FileMaker Go app for iPhone and iPad allows businesses and individuals to connect to, view and update a database using a local wireless network or via a Wi-Fi or 3G internet connection.

Databases shown in FileMaker Go are largely identical to their desktop equivalents, with any changes made via the app instantly written to the server. Available on PCs and Macs, a FileMaker database still needs to be created on the desktop but this new application will offer a greater degree of flexibility to users, especially those with remote sales teams. FileMaker databases can also be accessed via email, file sharing services like Dropbox and Box.net and can also be downloaded from the web and launched in FileMaker Go. Databases can also be added via iTunes file sharing on both iPhone and iPad.

As an extension to the existing FileMaker product you would perhaps expect FileMaker Go to be a free application, but the company has other ideas and is likely recouping development costs with a $19.99 price tag for the iPhone version and a hefty $39.99 for the iPad. Of course, the product is primarily aimed at business users who will likely foot the bill for the improved functionality offered. For the consumer, FileMaker also offers Bento for Mac, iPhone and iPad which is probably the best bet for non-business users.
