andyrubinhoneycomb Android 3.0 Gets Shown Off on Prototype Android Tablet

Seeing how Android is quickly becoming one of the most used mobile platforms in the world it would be ridiculous to think that Google will be ceasing development anytime soon. While Android 2.3 has only just been released, we’ve known for quite some time that Android 3.0, sometimes known as Honeycomb, is just around the corner.

Seeing how Android 2.3 is already out in the wild we’ve seen it get detailed extensively but Google has kept Android 3.0 under tight wraps. However, Google’s own Andy Rubin recently took center stage at the Dive Into Mobile to show of a prototype Motorola tablet running none other than Android 3.0.

While we only get a brief look at the new version of Google’s mobile operating system, we are definitely liking what we see. Android 3.0 is rumored to be heavily optimized for use with tablets and from the looks of it that seems to be true as a task bar (that utilizes a tablet’s extra real estate) seems to have made the cut, among other things.

Oh, and if you’re interested he also gives us a walkthrough of the new Google Maps, but who cares about that, right?

Check out the video after the break

This is a virtual keyboard for webOS. You might be wondering what a virtual keyboard is doing on a Palm device that comes with a slide-out QWERTY, especially when you have to hit Opt + Sym + K on the physical keyboard to access it.

I mean, if you want a virtual keyboard, just get a device that just has a touchscreen! I mean, there are a lot of iPhones and Android phones for that.

I saw this ad today while I was watching something on Hulu, and I thought it was a good example on how any customer can help a big computer company like Toshiba.

Who would have thought that T-Pain, with his penchant for eating copious amounts of submarine sandwiches, could help out one of the biggest laptop companies in the world?

Yeah, it probably could have been anyone instead of a hip-hop figure, but you might as well use him.

This is Rock Band Reloaded, and it is planned to “rock the mobile world” like it has the gaming world.

Now available at the App store, it offers some serious updates like a two-player mode for the iPad, not to mention singing along to 20 new tracks available today with more coming for the holiday.

I imagine we will be seeing a lot of comparisons between this and Guitar Hero.

mzl.dvygvmek.320x480 75 208x300 Make Crazy Beats With ElectroBeats By David GuettaIn my cozy little world, nestled in the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona, beat making on an iOS device starts and ends with the iDaft, the fantastic app that lets you make your own versions of “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” and “Technologic.” As much as I want to believe that this is the end all, be all music making app, I am aware that there are people making insane beats and remixes with various apps in the App Store.

Glancing over the App Store, anyone can see that beat making apps are a dime a dozen, with a ton of apps letting you mix, remix, and play with a handful of beats generated by not so great DJ’s. ElectroBeats is a little different than the rest of the lot, as it gives you more samples and pads than you will know what to do with. You can play around with all sorts of samples, from snare drums to various instruments, as well as five different modes (pad, pitch, velocity, erase, mute/solo). There are also hundreds of drum patterns, default quantization (for instant gratification!), and two sound generators (sample playback and synthesis oscillator) to thump your fingers to. If you want to get really hard core, you can even save your tracks to .wav files or export them to more serious platforms like Logic™, Live™, ProTools™, and Cubase™ for some serious mixing.

All of this intuitive beat making was made possible by the apps collaboration with famed French DJ/producer David Guetta, who has produced songs for just about everyone in the industry, from Rihanna to Lil’ Wayne to Madonna.

It goes without saying that if you have any sort of interest in iOS beatmaking, ElectroBeats is the app to get.
