Yeah, I’m pretty sure that we’ll be writing about that iPhone from Verizon with its WiFi Hotspot functionality and how it passed quickly through the FCC.
This morning, Verizon showed the image that you see here with capacity and color. The sad part was that the tech specs were the iPhone’s GSM specs and not the CDMA version.
Then, there is the obvious problem with the color of the phone. Yes, we have been hearing about that elusive white iPhone for quite a while now. It doesn’t look like this is going anywhere as this ad was pulled this morning.
Still, this leaves us wondering if Verizon is going to be the one to bring out the goods when it comes to that white iPhone goodness.

One of the biggest themes at this year’s CES was the dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 mobile processor. We saw a whole slew of different hardware manufacturers come forth to announce their smartphones and tablets running this ultra speedy processor but we’ve yet to see any hit the market. The general consensus is that the LG Optimus 2X (which made its debut last year) would be the first commercially available Tegra 2 powered smartphone on the market. While we haven’t seen any official release dates get announced a UK retailer by the name of Expansys has just posted the Optimus 2X for pre-order.
Unlocked the device will run you £499.99 ($779) with an expected release date of Monday, February 21st. Now there’s no telling when exactly this device will make its way to North America but here’s to hoping it will be sooner rather than later.
For those not familiar with the device, alongside the Tegra 2 processor it features a 4-inch display, an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p video capture (which you can then play back through the built-in HDMI port), a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera, 8GB of internal storage, a microSDHC slot for additional storage and none other than Google’s Android 2.3.

It is always the simplest of products at CES that I like the most. For example, the 3feet iPad stand, which is just a chuck of plastic that is needed if you want to hold up your iPod Touch, iPhone, or other mobile device.
Such is the case with the itatch. It is a simple suction cup that goes on the iPod, iPhone, or other device and then allows for a magnet to stick in there.
The magnet creates a strong lock, but one that can be easily unlocked when needed. It is terrific for those who like to wear their mobile around their neck, which isn’t really me.
The Company (named itatch) sells the lanyard in blue, red, black with white text, gray, white, black, and green with black text, for about $9.95 each. They also sell some similar items, so you might want to check them out at their main site.

Many manufacturers who produce Android phones are currently in an arms race to see who can put out the most technologically advanced phone. With several dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor touting offerings set to drop this year it will certainly be an intersting race. However, at the end of the psecturm there is a market for budget concious consumers who still want to get down on the Android craze.
If you’re one of these consumers who is a big clumsy with their devices perhaps you should check out the recently launched Motorola i866. Pictured above, this rugged device features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and, of course, Google’s Android mobile operating system. Additionally it features a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of storage and a 2 megapixel camera. If you’re wondering how rugged the device is it features resistance against shock, moisture dust and extreme temperature fluctuation.
Like I said above, the Motorola i866 is available now from Sprint for $79.99 with a 2-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate or $279.99 unlocked.

Hey, a phone that Apple introduced back in 2009 (that’d be the iPhone 3GS) is now selling — brand new with a two-year voice / data agreement — for $49, both at AT&T and through Apple directly. Of course, you could get the far more capable iPhone 4 for a fair amount more, or you could wait until tomorrow so you’d actually have an option when it comes to carriers. Your call, obviously.
Apple drops iPhone 3GS to $49 on contract, we pretend the timing is coincidental originally appeared on Engadget on Mon, 10 Jan 2011 14:12:00 EST. Please see our terms for use of feeds.
