Want to tether your computer to your iPhone? Pay up.
A certain 15-year-old decided that he didn’t want to pay the $20 monthly fee, and created an app for it. He got approval because it was a simple flashlight app known as Handy Light. It looked like an ordinary flashlight app like vFlashlight or the iPhone OS4 flashlight bug, but it actually turns the iPhone into a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Apple has pulled the app but good, but for those who have Handy Flashlight, enjoy its features, all of them!
I’ve heard that there may be a great convergence, where we would purchase a movie, and be able to watch it from any platform like our television, mobile phone, or PMP.
This could happen if Ultraviolet has their way. Right now, Ultraviolet has several members like NBC Universal, for example. However, I don’t think that Apple and iTunes will play nice with it. Especially with the Hulu iPad service and Hulu Plus.
By now, we all know about the iPhone 4 “death grip”, and apparently, the Nokia N97 has a certain problem with holding as well.
As you can see from the video clip, holding the phone at the base causes the signal to drop from seven bars to two. Considering the Nokia response to the iPhone 4 problem, this is pretty upsetting.
I believe the source of this video is Apple, but I don’t have any confirmation for that.
Some of you might remember when we announced yesterday that Sharp was working on an e-reader.
I’m going to have to issue a correction, as Sharp is going to offer two e-reader models. Both will be linked with Verizon, and can browse the web at 3G speeds. One will have a 5.5 inch LCD touchscreen, while the other will have a 10.8 inch touchscreen.
There is no word on pricing or availability at this present time. Again, I will ask if we need another ebook reader.
