Sophone is the Best iPhone 4 Knockoff of 2010

There are plenty of fake iPhone knockoffs, like the HiPhone 4G. Apple has sued many manufacturers around the world for clearly cloning the iPhone or stealing some of its key features.

China has always been the largest hub of fake, knockoff gadgets. If you visit China, chances are you will find all the recent models of mobile phones cloned and selling at less than half their original prices. Because the iPhone’s appeal is at a global level, it is becoming increasingly difficult for Apple to crack down on all of these little companies overseas that are creating knockoff iPhone models.

The Sophone is by far the best iPhone 4 knockoff of 2010. It didn’t receive American coverage until late December, but the device has been a huge hit in China. It copies the iPhone 4 in almost every way imaginable. The way that the Sophone identically mirrors the iPhone 4 is unbelievable. You really have to see it to believe it…

loanthisbookkindle1 300x132 Amazon finally releases its Kindle Book Loaning ProgramWe have reported on Amazon’s book lending program before, about a month before their book gifting program.

For those who aren’t familiar with this program, it is similar to that which the Nook eBooks do. Amazon’s program allow the user to loan a book out for 14 days.

The loaner cannot read their book while it is on loan, and they can only be loaned out at a single time. Not all books can be loaned out, and that decision is up to the publisher.

Amazon promised to have this feature out before this year, and they just instituted it…yesterday. Cutting it a little close, aren’t you Amazon?

sbntech ces 12 30 20101 300x200 SBN Tech to display the IP Video Phone at CES 2011For those who have never heard of SBN Tech, you are not alone, and they are planning on releasing an “IP Video Phone”.

It is a video phone that is also an Android tablet as well. There are a lot of Android tablets out there, and many of them will be on display at CES 2011.

The SBN Tech IP Video Phone should also be on display at CES 2011, and you should be able to see a 10.1-inch screen (1,024 x 600 screen) and SD card slot. The user will be able to use this device for email, Twitter, Facebook, and other Android Apps.

There is no word of pricing or availability, and this thing bears a strong resemblance to a Chumby, the older version.

Motorola Cliq 2 cell phone signal 270x270 T Mobile and Motorola will announced the Cliq 2 at CES 2011We have reported on the Motorola Cliq several times, and how the Cliq 2 has passed through trademark offices.

We have just learned that CES 2011 will be the place where T-Mobile and Motorola will reveal the Cliq 2 officially. This is a picture of it here, and looks pretty close to the original Cliq.

As far as we know, it will run the MotoBlur interface, and possibly have Android 2.2 (Froyo) or maybe Eclair (Version 2.1). As for any other features, we have heard that it has Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Assisted GPS, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), and a 5 Megapixel camera.

We should see the Cliq 2 hit the market on January 19, but I don’t have any real confirmation of that. In fact, it’s more like a rumor, really.

ipad profile 270x440 184x300 Micro USB to be the new standard in Europe?I would hope that we would all agree that standards are important, and that should apply to cables.

We all know that Apple uses that 30 pin, and, according to my Source, “two European standardization bodies have agreed to make micro-USB the standard interface port for smartphones in Europe”.

The commission “made available the harmonized standards needed for the manufacture of data-enabled mobile phones compatible with a new common charger. This is the most recent development in the process toward a global common mobile phone charger initiated by the European Commission.”

In all honesty, I like the idea of the mini USB port being a standard. I seem to have six cables on my desk that are mini USB or micro USB, I can’t tell. They power my Jabra Stone 2 Bluetooth headset and my Droid X Mobile phone.
