asus eee tablet reader press 280x262 ASUS Eee Tablet to show up at CES 2011We have reported on the ASUS Eee Tablet, aka E90 or EeePad.

It was unveiled at Computex in June, and there hasn’t been much on it since then. We know that it has 2,450 dpi touchscreen sensitivity and quick 0.1 second page turns.

I also believe that it was supposed to come out sometime earlier, but it will probably not show up until 2011. That means it will most certainly show up at CES 2011 in Las Vegas. So far, there is no confirmation of a price.

10x1115u9ib235reb 280x219 Giorgio Armani makes new Samsung handsetWell, we love to cover the things that Armani does as much as we can, especially since they occasionally get in the mobile phone business, like the Samsung B7620 and Samsung M7500.

It looks a lot like a Samsung Galaxy phone, really, like the AT&T Captivate. This one is stuffed with some extra Armani content, like all other specialty marketed phones.

You should be able to get it for about €700.

garmin asus a50 ASUS Ending Smartphone Partnership With Garmin?

The smartphone market is an incredibly cut throat one with hardware manufacturers far and wide getting down on the fun for profit and for glory. However, while some hardware manufacturers like Apple, HTC and Samsung are reaping the benefits, others aren’t doing so hot. If you’ve been reading MobileWhack for a while you’ve probably heard of some GPS focused smartphones from Garmin ASUS. Now, if you couldn’t tell Garmin ASUS isn’t exactly a single entitiy but instead two companies banding together for a common cause. Unfortunately for the fans of these devices (if there are even any out there) it seems everything is about to come to a halt.

According to rumors, an ASUS exec has went on record as saying the ASUS/Garmin smartphone partnership is no more. This can most likely be attributed to the fact that most of the devices that came from this partnership weren’t exactly critically recieved or sought after. This isn’t really a surprise considering many popular smartphones are gaining third party applications that give them GPS functionalities just as good as any standalone GPS unit.

We’ll have to wait and see how this one unfolds.

chirp The Garmin chirp, for geocachersEven though I have never been geocaching, it is something that I would like to try. For this reason, Garmin has created the chirp.

The chirp can sync with a Garmin GPS device, and it can “transmit geocaching data to your Garmin handheld device for things like coordinates, the times a cache has been found before, hints, etc.”. The chirp is very small, only “slightly larger than a quarter” according to the company.

You should be able to get the chirp now for $22.99.
