Well, if numbers are any indicators of success, then Samsung has at least two hits on its hands.
The company has just announced that it has now shipped 3 million of their Galaxy S smartphones, which comes in seven models. (Kudos to you if you can name them all.) This comes three months after Samsung said that it had shipped one million of the Android phone. Hey, didn’t we report that 5 million Galaxy S units have been sold?
Speaking of one million, Samsung also stated that one million Tabs have been sold.

If you’ve been with us for a while you’ll already know that Samsung is one of the most popular Android manufacturers in the game. Much of this success can be attributed to their Galaxy S line up of phones that has found its way onto every major carrier here in the United States. However, while Samsung is quite popular, there is no way it could beat the pioneering Android manufacturer HTC, right?
Wrong, sales numbers are in today that say Samsung is officially the top selling Android manufacturer for Q3 2010. To put this into perspective, they have been able to secure a massive 32.1% of US Android sales in this quarter.
Currently, some Galaxy S devices have yet to be upgraded to Android 2.2 but once they are these sales numbers are sure to skyrocket even further.

Samsung’s Galaxy S line up of Android devices has been on the market for quite some time garnering positive interest. Making an appearance on major carriers like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint, the Samsung Galaxy S is available to just about everyone which great contributes to its sucess.
Unfortunately, when any product gets popular no matter what manufacturer it is from, bootleg devices are sure to pop up sooner or later. It seems that the Samsung Galaxy S is no different as an imitation device has appeared and strikes an uncanny resemblance to the real thing as you can see from the above picture.
Seeing how this is blatant copyright infringement, we probably won’t be seeing this device his the United States anytime soon but what is interesting is the fact that the makers of this device promise an Android 2.2 update soon. Will the fake Galaxy S beat the authentic Galaxy S in the race towards Froyo? Only time will tell.

While LG has a select few Android powered smartphones available here in the United States there isn’t one device that really makes a huge impact like the Samsung Galaxy S, iPhone 4 or HTC EVO 4G does. However, if their most recent phone announced for South Korea makes the international jump they may have quite a winner on their hands.
This device, dubbed the LG LU3000, features Google’s Android 2.2, a 1GHz TI OMAP 3630 processor, a 3.8-inch touchscreen, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash an 1080p video recording capabilities, and an HDMI output port.
Unfortunately, there is no word on a release date or price point but us here in the United States (or anywhere that isn’t South Korea) are sure to be waiting quite some time before we hear anything more.

Samsung’s Android powered Galaxy S smartphone has without a doubt been one of their most popular releases to date. In fact, in the United States alone, the Galaxy S has made its way to just about every major wireless carrier.
Due to this success, it’s almost a no brainer that Samsung would eventually go on to release the Galaxy S2 – which we’ve heard about at various times thanks to different rumors. Today more of the same has come forth with the latest leak (found within a firmware update) giving us a hint at the Galaxy S2′s hardware specs. Unfortunately the hardware hints are quite minuscule with only an FM tuner and Bluetooth making the cut. However, what is more important about this leak is the fact that it gives us more confirmation that a Samsung Galaxy S 2 is in fact on its way.
Whatever is featured under the hood of this phone, Samsung has been known to push the envelope so the Galaxy S 2 is sure to be a killer release.
We’ll keep you posted as more is made known.
