I’m sure all of you know how Google Android phones allow for a lot of vocal control.
This is why Google has recently acquired Phonetic Arts, to help their vocal interface for programs like Google Translate, Google Maps with Navigation, Voice Search, Voice Input, as well as Voice Actions.
So, are we looking at an age where we just talk to our phone to access everything on it? It would certainly look that way. That Android is looking better all the time. And you thought the iPhone was great with its touchscreens and App store.

I’m so sick of white iPhone 4 rumors, yet here I am writing about one. Apparently, another white iPhone 4 has been spotted in public. This time, the mythical device was allegedly spotted at bar (how ironic).
There have been dozens of proposed reasons for the infamous white iPhone 4 delay. The most popular rumor has been that there is an issue with the white paint coating from the production line.
Whatever the reason, the official release has been delayed several times. It was “available” for a short time on the Apple Store before it was pulled. The device has been allegedly caught on tape, and legitimately spotted in public…

Ahh the trusty tower defense game – the genre that you fully intend to indulge in for mere minutes, until hours have passed and you’ve realised your battery is nearly drained. It’s tough to innovate within the genre though and admittedly Diet Defense has gone the easy route, sticking to its predictable guns while still being enjoyable.
One thing that is pretty unique about Diet Defense is its storyline. You’re not protecting your house from zombies this time round nor saving the world – you’re saving your gut. A wealth of tasty but unhealthy treats are coming your way while you’re slumped in your living room desperately trying to stick to your diet. It’s down to a trusty team of healthy snacks like tomatoes, pumpkins, onions and oranges to protect you from the temptation of donuts.
The typical tower defense pattern follows. You have a set amount of money in which to spend on your initial soldiers (or in this case – fruit and veg) and as you destroy the enemies/tasty treats, more money is gained meaning you can buy more troops. You can also place the fruit and veg strategically so that the donuts and pizza are diverted into a path that you choose. As time goes on and you accrue more money, you can upgrade your fruit and veg so that they become that bit more powerful.
There are four different battle arenas to compete in and three different difficulty levels on offer, spanning easy, medium and hard. There’s also an endless mode if you feel like playing for extended periods.
Diet Defense is quite fun but it doesn’t really offer anything new to the tower defense genre. There’s GameCenter and OpenFeint functionality which offer leaderboards and achievements, extending the longevity a bit. Really though, Diet Defense is just like any other tower defense game albeit with a healthy message behind it. Still, it’s very cheap so you could do a lot worse.

We just recently told you that Google would be holding a Chrome event come December 7th where many assumed they would be launching a netbook powered by the platform. However, at the time of that posting the event was only a rumor and Google had not said anything of the matter. Now, it seems that Google has officially come forth to let us know that they will in fact be holding a Chrome themed event come December 7th.
Of course, what exactly they will announce hasn’t been made official but we can only assume it will not only be the ChromeOS branded netbook, but also a Chrome app store.
We’ll be covering the event come December 7th so be sure to check back around then.
