If you’ve been keeping up with the Android buzz you’ll know that Google’s mobile operating system has managed to oust Reserach in Motion’s BlackBerry handset line up from the number 1 spot and has been crowned the king of all smartphone sales. Well, in celebration, Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt has coem to the forefront to give us a little bit of information regarding actual Android sales thus cementing the fact that we have a new king of mobile operating systems
According to Schmidt, about 200,000 Android devices are being sold every single day which is up from 100,000 sold daily 2 mmonths ago an 60,000 sold daily back in April.
This is some great news for Google and some bad news for RIM and Apple who have the BlackBerry 6 OS and iOS, respectively. If Android continues to gain speed like it has, we may be seeing a whole slew of app developers abandoning BB 6 and iOS in favor of the open source platform.
