MeeGo is a Linux-based open source operating system project announced at Mobile World Congress in February 2010 through a partnership between Intel and Nokia. Ari Jaaksi, a VP of Nokia MeeGo has resigned this past week. Ari’s departure from MeeGo will not affect the rollout schedule for MeeGo’s first device at the end of 2010. Ari’s resignation follows the recent departure of former Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo and Anssi Vanjoki. [Engadget]

This Linpus, and they are planning on shipping tablet edition of Meego slate software in Q4 of 2010.
According to my Source, “Linpus Lite Tablet Edition will include a series of apps designed to work with touchscreens, including a browser, media player, photo viewer, eBook reader, mail app, maps app, and contact manager”.
I don’t know about you, but this is looking like some sort of iPad clone of some type. It reminds me of the WeTab shown off at IFA.

Welcome to the age of the WePad, a tablet that has shown up at IFA.
It runs MeeGo, and it also supports Flash, unlike certain other tablets. Other specs include Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, 3G (UMTS/HSDPA), 16/32 GB, as well as extension with SDHC card for up to 32GB.
It also supports TV and video formats such as H.264, WMV, AVI, MOV, OGG, FLV, and DivX. It also has full HD 1080p video output.
The price for it is about $580. Not exactly cheaper than the Galaxy Tab.

Back in June we showed you for the first time Nokia’s MeeGo powered N9 handset. Today, we have yet another picture of the device thanks to a Chinese website and I must say, I really like what I’m seeing. In the past Nokia has been regarded as one of the world’s premiere handset manufacturing and still holds its fair share of the market. Howevre, when comparing hard hitting releases from Nokia to iOS and Android powered devices, there isn’t really a comparison. Luckily, Nokia has some tricks up their sleeve with forthcoming devices powered by both Symbian^3 and MeeGo.
While Nokia has yet to make an official announcement we can make out some things from the leaked N9 pictures. First of all it features a touchscreen along with a QWERTY keyboard, that’s obvious, but what we can also make out is a front facnig camera.
Unfortunately a full spec sheet is going to have to wait until Nokia comes forth to speak officially of the handset.

Nokia has been pretty quiet as of recently, working on their Symbian and MeeGo mobile operating systems behind closed doors. While Nokia has seemingly taken a leave of absence from the media’s spotlight, Google’s Anddroid and Apple’s iOS have pushed themselves right to the top.
Luckily, Nokia has a handset up its sleeve ready to compete with the iPhone 4, and top end Android powered smartphones such as the HTC EVO 4G, Droid X and Samsung Galaxy X dubbed the Nokia N8. If you’ll remember, this handset leaked quite a bit not too long ago, getting analyzed thoroughly by those lucky enough to get their hands on it. At the time, there was no mention of an official release date.
Today, Nokia has put the device up for pre-order with a pricetag of $549 with no wireless contract and a release date listed as “end of September 2010″.
Anyone looking to pick this up?
