Android – Iphone – Applications

The latest update for the Netflix iPhone app just hit the App Store. It now boasts video-out capabilities for the iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4th generation. This update is huge for those of us who use out iDevice for everything.

I’m a little curious if this will make any difference in quality for those on the 3G/3GS using DisplayOut, TVOut2, or Resupported. Regardless, I’m excited to test out the new functionality, and may opt for some extension cables to make my iPhone AV cable reach the TV from the couch.

Andy Samberg of Saturday Night Live created a sketch that mocks iPhone application advertisements that appear at the beginning of downloaded apps. In this sketch, Samberg tried to use a 911 application when burglars entered his house in the middle of the night. He accidentally sent movie tickets to “Rescue Dogs 3D” to everyone on his contact list. Check out the video below:

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg made a cameo appearance on The Simpsons in animated form. In the cameo, Zuckerberg updated his Facebook status and pointed out to Lisa Simpson that he dropped out of Harvard. Lisa was trying to teach Nelson the importance of education.

When Lisa said that Zuckerberg was an exception, the Facebook CEO pointed out that Bill Gates and Richard Branson were also drop-outs. However it turns out the janitor had a proper education.
