Android – Iphone – Applications

In this day and age if a smartphone doesn’t have all of the features another does it ill get picked apart ruthlessly. Luckily, thanks to the top notch software engineering team at many of these smartphone manufacturers features are continuously added following their initial release.

One such example of this is the Xperia X10 from Sony Ericsson. When originally announced, SE let us know that the device did not feature multitouch support and would not be getting it due to the fact that the included hardware simply wouldn’t support it. Luckily, it was made known today that SE will in fact be bringing multitouch to the Xperia X10 in the near future.

Unfortunately, if you’re looking for full fledged multitouch support, you’re going to be disappointed. It seems that SE will only be bringing limited multitouch support to the device including pinch to zoom in the web browser and Google Maps. Then again, what other multitouch do you really need (besides for games)?

The Sony Ericsson Xperia 10 is going to be available on the AT&T network. You know, I can’t tell if this is the same as the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 which just had a software update.

Here are the official specs. It has 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 8.1 Megapixel camera, 8GB of on-board memory, and a 4-inch display. It looks like it is running Android 1.6.

Well, my source calls it the Xperia 10, and it is available for $130 on August 15th from AT&T.
