We’ve got another Sony Ericsson to talk about, and they’ve brought us a lot of interesting models over the last few months. Will they be able to do anything interesting with the Sony Ericsson W995a? Let’s have a look!
The Sony Ericsson W995a is a slider style cell phone with conference call capability, speakerphone, Wi-Fi, a composer system to make your own music, stereo speakers, direct printing (yes! direct printing! You can actually print stuff off your cell phone by hooking it into a printer!), a hundred and eighteen gigs of memory (which is comparable to some older desktop computers), mobile web, mobile email, video calling services, Java application capability, a variety of downloadable content like games, ring tones and audio and video files, an eight megapixel camera with 16x digital zoom, face detection and automatic focus, alarm clock, calendar, basic calculator, MP3 player, a 3.5 mm headset jack, and a battery capable of yielding nine hours of talk time on one charge.
There’s a lot of good things to say about the Sony Ericsson W995a–there are plenty of features here, the battery life is unbelievably long…in fact, about the only bad thing about it is that the controls were a little tricky to start with. I had a rough time finding my way around, but it didn’t take long to get used to it. And chances are you won’t have too much trouble with it either.
The Sony Ericsson W995a is great phone with lots of options, and though the controls are a little balky to begin with, you won’t have trouble for long. This may not be an iPhone killer, but it’s worth your time to check out.
Sony has recently presented a new addition to the Walkman series, more specifically the Sony Walkman NWZ-E350 which can be considered a pretty good portable media player.
There are two versions of the NWZ-E350 Series, one with 4GB that is called NWZ-E353 and the other with 8GB entitled NWZ-E354. In terms of features they come with a 2-inch TFT screen that provides a QVGA resolution of 320
Considering Sony has long had the PSP portable gaming handheld on the market in addition to their Sony Ericsson line up of mobile phones, it would only make sense for the company to merge the two. Well, if recent rumors are to be believed, that may actually be happening, and some what soon.
According to said rumors, Sony Ericsson is gearing up to launch a brand new gaming platform that will work in conjunction with Google’s forthcoming Android 3.0 mobile operating system. Apparently, a new Android powered device will be released that features a form factor similar to the mock up pictured above. This device will feature a phone specific user interface (perhaps PSP-esque?) and a special section of the Android Marketplace dedicated only to games.
Apparantly, this special Marketplace section will only be accessible by Sony Ericsson’s device, in the beginning anyways. Games for the platform may include hard hitting titles such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, LittleBigPlanet and God of War.
Would you guys buy a smart phone dedicated to gaming? Let us know in the comments.
Normally when I hear the phrase “Sony Cybershot”, the first thing I think is “camera”. But this time, I’ve got a whole new thing to think about thanks to the folks at Sony Ericsson–”cell phone”. But how did it turn out? Let’s talk a look at today’s review target, the Sony Ericsson Cybershot C905a, and find out.
The Sony Ericsson Cybershot C905a is a slider-style cell phone with conference call capability, voice recorder, speakerphone, Wi-Fi, a hundred and sixty megs of user memory, mobile email, mobile web, Java capability, video calling capability, text and multimedia messaging, MP3 player, video player, a variety of downloadable applications and programs, an eight megapixel camera with autofocus, 16x digital zoom and flash, alarm clock, calendar, basic calculator, stopwatch, and a battery capable of yielding nine hours of talk time on a single charge.
Okay, I don’t know about you, but I’m really impressed here. It’s been a long time since I saw eight megapixels in a cell phone camera, and nine hours of talk time is far from the norm. There are plenty of terrific applications here, and lots of exciting features. Even the controls are mostly good though they do take some getting used to. This is a camera phone in the truest sense of the term–a full-on camera with a phone in it.
And though it’s not perfect, it’s definitely one for you to have a look at if you want a handy way to combine a camera and a cell phone all in one package.
