appleipad Apple to Announce iPad 2 in ‘Next 3 4 Weeks’?

2011 is shaping up to be quite a big year for Apple as not only are they expected to announce a sequel to the iPhone 5 but the device is expected to make the jump from AT&T to Verizon as well. However, the iPhone is not Apple’s only highly sought after product as the iPad too has seen itself in headlines more than one can count. With Q1 of 2011 upon us, many have wondered when Apple will be coming forth to announce the iPad 2 which is generally believed to include a high resolution display, front/rear facing cameras and a faster processor.

While we haven’t gotten anything official regarding the tablet out of Apple, Digg.com founder Kevin Rose has come forth to give his insight. According to Rose, Apple is set to launch the iPad 2 within the next 3-4 weeks “possibly Tuesday, February 1st”. Additionally, Rose says the tablet will feature a display with a higher resolution than the original generation device alongside front and rear facing cameras.

Is this to be believed? Well, the speculation regarding the hardware changes seems about right but we’ll have to wait and see if the date is right. It shouldn’t be too long from now until Apple begins sending out invites.
