Windows Mobile may not be the most loved mobile operating system out there but seeing how it has been on the market so long it’s no surprise that it holds its fair share of the market. Many of the applications found within Windows Mobile have been found unpleasant when compared to more modern mobile operating systems but thanks to third party software developers that experience is getting a bit less bumpy.
For instance, today it was announced that Opera Mini 5.1 for Windows Mobile is now available for download. Opera is one of the most popular web browsers for desktop computers and has been applauded for its ease of use and immensely fast load times.
If anyone gives this a go be sure to tell us how it is.

No shame in saying it — we’re huge, huge fans of Boston‘s ‘Big Picture’ blog. Regardless of the subject matter, the photographs gathered there never fail to speak to something a little deeper within our souls, and now viewing them just because a wee bit easier. The portal has today launched a new version of their ‘Big Picture’ app that’s fully compatible with the iPad, enabling Apple tablet owners to see new photographic essays on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week. Unfortunately, the app costs $2.99 (where it’s free to surf on over to the website), and the current crop of reviews are less than glowing. Might we suggest waiting a tick to see if those early issues are ironed out in a subsequent release?

I wondered when a contest would emerge that featured the iPhone 4, which I figured would be focused on films. Turns out I was wrong in sense that the Australian Commercial and Media Photographers held a competition for photos taken on the new phone.

Running is a lot of work. That’s why the previous version of the Nike+ iPod was a bit of a hassle since you had to have special equipment just to participate in the experience. Apparently Nike agreed.
Now in the App Store is an app called Nike+ GPS which is a stand alone version of the aforementioned application. The $2 selection which you can download here utilizes the iPhone’s accelerometer and GPS capabilities (must be running iOS 3.1 or higher), which ditches the need for any additional adapters that it once required… Read More

This week has gone by faster than usual. Perhaps the Apple event made the days come and go quicker but nevertheless it’s Friday. This is the day I’ve been known to spout off about a topic that I feel needs further attention. This week I go after those who feel the need to warn people that jailbreaking your iPhone can “brick” it.
I recently posted an article announcing the recent jailbreak of my iPhone 4. Having been away from the dark side since my iPhone 3G, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the process. Read More
