Microsoft is looking to make a hard comeback in the mobile world with the forthcoming release of their Windows Phone 7 operating system. Unlike the not-so-loved Windows Mobile, Windows Phone 7 has been designed from the ground up to incorporate touch input alongside integration with popular social networks like Facebook and Twitter and even popular servers from Microsoft like Xbox Live.

But anyways, if you were paying attention you’ll know that Microsoft officially unveiled Windows Phone 7 yesterday during a highly publicized event. During said event, Microsoft also took the time to show off a whole slew of devices that will be running the WP7 platform including several from HTC and LG.

Despite the phones not getting officially announced by their respective carriers, online retailers like Amazon and more have already begun taking pre-orders for the devies. What’s good about these pre-orders is the phones come completely unlocked and carrier free so provided you’re willing to pay the premium you should have no problem using whatever carrier you want.

The devices that have gone up for pre-order includ the HTC 7 Trophy at £423 the HTC HD7 at €599 and LG Optimus 7 at €499. Anyone looking to pick any of these up once they’re made available later this month or early next?

This is the plans for MagSafe, and if you haven’t heard of them now, you might.

MagSafe makes connectors for laptop cords that attach with magnets rather than a plug-in. This is a good way to prevent accidents that happen when pulling on the cord.

It is possible to see this technology on the iPad or iPhone soon, for the charging and data-sync. However, we don’t have any word on that. Reminds me of the Palm Pre 2 rumors.

I’m sure you’ve probably heard of Meebo by now, and it has just received an update for the iPhone 4.

Meebo is an IM app that supports AIM, Facebook, Google Talk, ICQ, Windows Live, and Yahoo. You will receive push notifications even when the app is closed, and stay connected when you move from Edge to 3G to WiFi.

Granted, there is no Facebook integration this time around, but it is still absolutely free.
