Android – Iphone – Applications

We have reported on a lot of iPad cases, but this is the first that I have seen that has room for the accessories.

The iPad Wallet, made by WaterField Design, makers of the Amazon Kindle 3 case. The iPad Wallet is made for the iPad as well as a keyboard, and even has room for the charging and sync cables. It’s like someone actually thought about what consumers need for an iPad case and actually made it work!

It is available in 6 colors with distressed leather trim for $79.

TomTom is really big on customization these days. You can get a lot of customized voice with Star Wars and Looney Tunes voices, and now the housing is good.

Tom Tom’s new My Custom option is a way of putting out several pre-made designs for the after-market unit. You can choose from select models and even upload your own images and text.

All in all, it costs an additional $10 for this service.

It may be an older model, but the Nokia 3555 does still bring some worthwhile features along to the table with it. It’s a bit of a surprise to see there’s still some punch in this, especially after seeing some potent ultramodern smart phones, but sometimes strange things come in the fashion you’d least expect.

The Nokia 3555 is a folder-style cell phone that offers a voice recorder, Bluetooth connectivity, microSD card slot, a phone book with sufficient capacity for a thousand entries, fax capability (which is a feature I don’t remember ever seeing before), mobile web, mobile email, support for Java applications, MP3 player, alarm clock, calendar, calculator, microUSB port, wireless download capability, a VGA camera, an included hands-free headset, and a battery that yields three hours of talk time on a single charge.

Now, you can see here that there’s a lot of trouble here, mostly owing to the fact that it’s an older phone. Many critical features are missing that, viewed against the cold light of day, are downright necessary and gravely limits the utility of the Nokia 3555. But then, I’ve never seen a phone with fax capability, and that’s a really unusual feature.

One unusual feature, however, is scarcely enough to make up for the panoply of missing features, and though the download capability is in there, it’s still pretty lightly-featured against bigger models of cell phone.

It may be old, and it may be a bit underpowered, but there’s still plenty to like about the Nokia 3555.

The Good

Unexpected fax feature

Downloadable features for added utility

The Bad

Poor camera

Poor battery life

Decided lack of onboard features

Score 5 / 10

We have reported on the Notion Ink Adam several times before, like how it will hopefully be released in November and the price.

Here is some more photos of the tablet PC that is supposed to be an iPad-killer, but probably not as big as the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be. If you want to see more on this, there is a video of it at the Source.

I’m sure we’ll probably hear more when it is finally released.

Ever since I tried out the Pogoplug, I can’t stop reporting on its updates, like when it streams from the iPad or its business turn to Pogoplug Biz.

Who doesn’t want a device that can put a hard drive totally on the cloud. The Pogoplug Pro has a black case (as opposed to the awful pink) and features built-in wireless networking.

You should be able to get the Pogoplug Pro at the Pogoplug websit as well as Best Buy for $99.
