One of the biggest problems with Google’s Android is the market segmentation. This segmentation is apparent due to the fact that many hardware manufacturers push new devices out with older version of Android. Luckily, while some devices are still running older versions, many manufacturers have promised that the Android 2.2 updates will be out soon enough.
One such device that is still running an older version of Android is the T-Mobile myTouch 3G. Well, owners of this device will be happy to hear that a slide has leaked out today notifying us that the myTouch 3G will be getting the Android 2.2 update today. According to the leak, the roll out will commence from today to October 25th.
Unfortunately, this isn’t exactly confirmed as of yet but once it is we’ll let you know.

Microsoft is looking to make a hard comeback in the mobile world with their forthcoming Windows Phone 7 mobile platform. In the past we’ve said we won’t know how the platform stacks up against the competition until some of the devices are outed. Well, if you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know that ust afew days ago Microsoft came forth to show us their whole line up of device. One of these devices was the HTC HD7 Pro.
The HTC HD7 Pro features a 4.3-inch touchscreen, a 1GHz processor, 576MB of RAM, a 5 megapixel camera capable of recording 720p HD video and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. While we aren’t exactly sure when we will see the HD7 Pro hit store shelves, it has been made known today that the device will be making its way to Europe early next year.
Of all the devices that Microsoft showed off to run Windows Phone 7, I think the HTC HD7 was one of the nicest looking. What do you guys think?

The US Patent and Trademark Office approved a patent that Apple filed in 2008 which can prevent users from sending or receiving “objectionable” text messages.
In other words, it is designed to prevent “sexting”. Here is what my Source says that it really does:
In one embodiment, the control application includes a parental control application. The parental control application evaluates whether or not the communication contains approved text based on, for example, objective ratings criteria or a user’s age or grade level, and, if unauthorized, prevents such text from being included in the text-based communication.
If the control contains unauthorized text, the control application may alert the user, the administrator or other designated individuals of the presence of such text. The control application may require the user to replace the unauthorized text or may automatically delete the text or the entire communication.
So is this going to be the end of texting? Perhaps on the iPhone. That, or iPhone users will find a way around it.

Here is the ClickSafe from Kensington, and it allows users to lock up their laptop.
Honestly, I have never used one, but probably should. I would hate to come out of the bathroom at the Coffee Shop or library and find that the laptop is stolen.
The ClickSafe Keyed Laptop Lock has a click-to-lock mechanism, and works by attaching a protruding knob that can be attached to the laptop via Allen wrench. From there, a key is needed, of course.
You should be able to get Kensington’s new ClickSafe locking system for $49.99.

I have often heard of people who put cellular phones or cameras on weather balloons in order to get photos from space. This ain’t the Balloon Boy app.
Luke and Max Geissbuhler attached an iPhone to a weather balloon for a 72 minute voyage for 100,000 feet. In case you are wondering, the iPhone didn’t take this photo, but a HD video camera. The iPhone was used for its GPS capability, and it was returned back safely from its trip through space.
