Android – Iphone – Applications

Griffin Technologies has been pretty busy with many iPod Touch, iPod nano, and iPad products, and they have just introduced a very interesting accessory with the iTrip DualConnect.

The DualConnect is an FM transmitter which can tune into the car radio to whatever frequency that the SmartScan will found for you. Not only can it do wireless transmissions, or directly through AUX. This can also charge the iPod or iPhone while it is connected to this.

You should be able to get the iTrip DualConnect for about $59.99 off the Griffin Technology website.

We have reported about TDK’s flexible OLED display when it was at CEATEC (when I was at CTIA) before, and I found this video that explains it some more.

There is a price on it for about $1,000, and should be “available now to manufacturers in monochrome and in a lovely color variant by the end of the year.”

It’s clearly (pun made before, I know) the wave of the future. Can’t wait until it is on all cell phones. I wonder if they will make touchscreen versions.

Take an adventure with the American Museum of Natural History as they present Cosmic Discoveries, a new free iPhone app that offers a host of beautiful images, interesting stories and fascinating information about the world around us.

This app is presented as a part of an ongoing celebration for the tenth anniversary of the opening of the Museum’s Rose Center for Earth and Space, in New York City. As one of the most popular and revered Science Institutions in America, you can rest assured that they have put a worthy amount of energy into creating an app that will appeal to students, scientists and everyday space enthusiasts alike.

Offering over a thousand images of impressive quality, gathered from a host of different sources, space agencies, the Museum’s own collection and observatories worldwide. Each photo offers information about its subject, including astronauts, planets, stars, and nebulae. Also, it features photos from here on earth – our history, our technology and so much more to do with our discovery of outer space. All of this is presented as a mosaic with a familiar shape – Saturn. You can also share each photo with a friend right from within the app!

There are also 9 different ‘Stories’ included in the app. Learn about Comets, Pulsars, Galaxy Clusters and more! With illustrations, these stories offer detailed and educational information to anyone wanting to know more about the space around our planet, and to help understand the complexities of our universe. This would be a wonderful addition to any astronomy or cosmology class at any level. This app can function as a handy reference or as an interesting introduction to the topic of Space.

The American Museum of Natural History is no stranger to the App Store — if you liked their Dinosaur’s App, then you should definitely check this one out!

I saw this article that you can read at my Source which claims that experts are worried about iPhones becoming a “toy of choice” amongst toddlers.

Considering that my three-year-old son loves the iPod Touch, and will often cry when the battery runs out, I completely believe it.

I suppose that every generation has its electronic vices, and perhaps the iPhone is this one. It would be good to know that in order to help the next generation to learn. Take the Woogie, for example.

Those of you who have never heard of TED, then you should know about it.

It started out in 1984 as a conference to bring together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, and Design (TED). In the past 25 years, it has become bigger and now it has an iPad App.

The App brings all the info and even video to iPad users for those who desire it, and it is also free.
