There have been several hard hitting tablets set to compete with Apple’s ever so popular iPad. While none of these hard hitting devices, other than the Dell Streak, have actually made their way to market, they have generated a considerable amount of hype. One such tablet that should come to mind is the infamous HP Slate which we unfortunately may never see made available for consumer user.
Another tablet, the Galaxy Tablet from Samsung, we will see with Google’s Android mobile OS in tow. There’s no telling when exactly this device will ship or with what specs but we have a some-what official confirmation today. Apparently, the firmware for this tablet has leaked out today and after moseying through the code, the community has found that the Samsung Galaxy Tablet will feature 1GHz Hummingbird processor. If you’re pay9ing attention, you’ll know that the Samsung Galaxy S also features this 1GHz Hummingbird processor and it has proven itself to be more than capable. So, while it’s not from Samsung’s mouth it is from their engineers deeming it virtually official.
Now, all we need is an official release date and price point and we’ll be all set.
