And to close out the week, we’ve got a Samsung cell phone to take a look at, and it’ll have some problems to it, but manage to do a pretty fair job in the aggregate sense.
The Samsung Stunt is a candy bar style cell phone that offers a voice recorder, speakerphone, Bluetooth connectivity, voice recognition programs, a phone book with sufficient space for five hundred entries, mobile web, mobile email, text messaging, JAVA application compatibility, downloadable games and applications, an alarm clock, calendar, basic calculator, stopwatch, MP3 player, and a battery that yields three hours and eighteen minutes of talk time on a single charge.
So you can see this is a pretty bare bones cell phone–there isn’t even a camera here, for crying out loud–but there’s plenty to like and good solid functionality, which makes it well worth most people’s while.
But the lack of the camera isn’t the only downside here. It definitely doesn’t help the Samsung Stunt’s case that it has no camera, but it only makes things worse to discover that it has awkward controls. It took me a good while to figure it all out, and that’s not the kind of thing people want in their cell phones.
But still; if you’re willing to work with some sludgy controls and forgive a lack of a camera, you should do all right with the Samsung Stunt.
The Good
Surprising variety of features
The Bad
Low battery life
No camera at all
Fussy controls
