Remember Kazaa? It was the P2P network that sprang out of nowhere after Napster was shut down by the RIAA where people shared music and movies. The original company to develop Kazaa sold the application to Sharman Networks. Then the movie and music industry executives promptly sued Sharman.
Between the four major music companies, Sharman ended up paying $100 million in damages as a settlement. Sharman also agreed to make Kazaa a legal music download service. After the lawsuit, Brilliant Digital Entertainment Inc. bought out the domain name and Kazaa brand name.
This past week, it was recently announced that Brilliant Digital Entertainment sold the Kazaa peer to peer network and brand to Altrinsic. Altrinsic issued 4,161,130 shares of common stock to Brilliant Digital as part of a marketing agreement. Altrinsic would also offer 7,125,165 shares of stock at closing. This makes it a deal worth $5.19 million.

Today we’re taking a look at another Samsung, the Samsung Craft, and it’s actually got a lot backing it up. I was actually pretty surprised by the sheer amount of stuff they’ve got loaded into this phone, and I think you will be too.
The Samsung Craft is a candy bar style smartphone that offers conference calling, a 3.2 megapixel camera, 4G connectivity, an uploaded file of the Star Trek movie (yes, the Samsung Craft actually comes with the new Star Trek movie, which is a little odd but still pretty interesting), a phone book with sufficient space for two thousand contacts, calendar, note pad, alarm clock and world clock, calculator, Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS, free access to MetroNavigator, access to all three of the major instant messenger suites (AOL IM, Windows Live, and Yahoo Messenger), Facebook, MySpace and Twitter access, mobile web, mobile email, a YouTube shortcut, several MetroPCS specific applications, and a battery that yields six hours of talk time on a single charge.
While the phone itself is easy to use–a QWERTY keyboard certainly helps–and there are plenty of quality features, the battery life is just a bit above mediocre (the average I’ve run into is five hours, and this is just barely over that at six) and the camera’s images don’t seem very sharp. Clear enough, but kind of dull–at least, that’s what I took away from it.
Still though, there’s plenty to offer here, with lots of useful features and worthwhile applications. It will be no one’s idea of a great phone but it will absolutely bring plenty of quality capability with it.
The Samsung Craft will bring along a solid experience that will get many different jobs done, though not with any real elan.
The Good
Plenty of solid features
A good control experience
The Bad
Mediocre battery life
Lower end camera performance
Score 6 / 10

For the deaf and hard-of-hearing community, it can be difficult to enjoy the movie going experience. Few theaters provide on-screen captions for fear of it distracting the general population, and while new methods of accessibility are emerging (see Rear Window® captioning), finding a theater and showtimes to take advantage of this can be cumbersome.
Not anymore with Captionfish. The free app by DeafCode LLC is slick and simple, using your GPS location to find the closest theaters and showtimes with deaf-accessible movie showings. It also provides trailers of upcoming movies with closed captions (although they acknowledge some users are having trouble accessing this feature and they are working toward a solution)… Read More

Well, maybe not an official trailer… but wow. MuscleNerd was right, GeoHot does have some devoted fans. Maybe he should keep trying to make it in the music industry after all…
