New day, new app in Cydia Store: BackLiter. BackLiter is a new one-touch utility app for controlling your phone’s backlight levels. If you’re the hardcore iPhone user, you try to get everything you can out of your hardware. That means keeping your screen dim when you don’t need it bright, to save battery life.
But, what happens when you move outside, and the ambient light swamps your display? Or you’re in the car? And what happens, when you want to change the screen brightness quickly, and don’t want to spend the time or attention, to navigate multiple touches, and potentially a slider that’s difficult to control precisely, even when you’re sitting still?
BackLiter is a new tweak from Enscand, Inc. , and it’s the simplest, most efficient backlight control imaginable. You use your device Settings to preset two brightness levels ( one dim, one bright ). Then, when you run the app, with one touch, the app toggles your screen brightness between those two levels. The app tells you what it’s doing, and then closes itself. Literally one touch.
You can even set your preferences so that the app doesn’t even take the time to show you the message. It just starts, changes brightness, and quits. BackLiter’s change is temporary. When your phone’s springboard restarts, after unlocking your phon, your normal iPhone screen brightness levels will return.
BackLiter supports iPhone OS 3.0 through 4.0.1 and you can buy it from Cydia Store for $0.99 via BigBoss repo…

TypoPhone 4 This Might Be the Coolest iPhone Lockscreen Ever

I found this awesome lockscreen on Cydia yesterday, with a little help from AtomicMufin on Twitter. It’s called TypoPhone 4 and it’s basically a lockscreen theme that shows the time and date in large bold letters. It also contains this cool unlock slider. You can download it from Cydia and activate it with Winterboard.

To have it look exactly like the image above, you’ll also need to download Lockscreen Clock Hide from Cydia, which like the name suggests, hides the clock on your iPhone. Read More

mzl.sbkvvqiy.320x480 75 186x280 Image Comics come to the iPad, thanks to ComixologyDon’t feel bad if you don’t recognize many of the characters in this picture, they might not be as known to the mainstream non-comic-book crowd like the characters from Marvel or DC, but Comixology has some of Image Comics best titles.

You can download and read some of the best indie-comics, with Guided View technology. The App itself is free, but the issues themselves vary in price. It looks like the average issue is $1.99, while what looks like collections range from $9.99 and up.

New day, new app in Cydia: Volume Booster. Some of you might know this tweak, but for all the newcomers, the tweak is suppose to make your phone sounds louder ( ringtone, message sound, mail sound etc ). To be honest I never hear the difference, but maybe I’m just deaf. After you install Volume Booster, all you need to do is load Winterboard and activate the tweak just like you would a theme.

NOTE: won’t work with iOS 3.x

NOTE: some users told us that this tweak ( better said, the previous versions of this tweak ) messed up their iPhone speaker in some way or the other. We didn’t have any problem with it, so use it at your own risk.
