Thanks to the plethora of high powered smart phones available, many of which are quite affordable, the install base of these devices is quite high. While this is a great thing as it contributes to a healthy mobile application store ecosystem (Apple’s App Store being an example) it means that many underaged consumers have them as well.
While there are certain parental controls in place that will help parents deter inappropriate content from reaching their children, the Android Market currently has no age oriented rating system. However, if you’ve been paying attention you’ll know that we told you that Google would be introducing developer ratings to help consumers decipher what is appropriate for the various age groups.
Today, those content ratings have gone live requiring developers to select a rating of All, Pre-Teen, Teen or Mature for both new and existing apps.

One of the single greatest things about Android is the fact that it is an open source platform. This means that pretty much anyone who wants to develop for Google’s mobile operating system is allowed to do so. Of course, actually being able to do so relies on your own personal skill set but if you’ve got said skills, the option is open.
Not long after a device hits the streets does the manufacturer come forth to release the source code for said phone. This valuable information allows developers to harness the specific features of said phone an utilize it to their advantage be it for a game or other application. Today, Samsung has released the source code for the Continuum.
If you’re not familiar with this device, it is essentially a Samsung Galaxy S with a dedicated ticker screen below the normal touchscreen, as you can see in the above image. Now that the source code is readily available, it’s going to be interesting to see if developers decide to utilize said ticket screen or not.

If you’re a developer (or just someone interested) who is looking for the T-Mobile MyTouch 4G source code you will be happy to hear that HTC has released them today. To grab them just head over to HP’s developer website here.

After releasing his Sn0wBreeze jailbreak for iOS 4.1, iH8Sn0w has decided to follow the steps of Chronic DevTeam and their GreenPois0n jailbreak by making SnowBreeze’s source code open source.
That means that anyone can download the source code to tweak it and hopefully make it better. I think this is particularly good for wannabe iPhone hackers. Downloading the source code will help you see how a jailbreak works behind the scene.
You can download SnowBreeze’s source code from Github.
