Apple’s iPad brought the slate tablet form factor to the forefront of media attention. Due to this added media attention, many hardware manufacturers have come forth to announce their own competitors for Apple’s tablet.
LG, in particular, has been rumored to be launching their own Android powered tablet for some time now. Today during an interview with the Wall Street Journal, LG’s Vice President of Market, Chang Ma, went on recording as saying “our tablet will be better than the iPad” and “surprisingly productive.” Ma elaborates on this bold claim by stating it will focus on the creation of documents, the editing of video and the creation of programs.
Unfortunately we have nothing official to go by in terms of overall design so all we can assume is that it will feature a capacitive touchscreen bigger than the Dell Streak’s 5-incher (because that’s the smallest main stream ‘tablet’ we’ve seen) and potentially some USB ports and front facing camera as these are things the iPad lacks.
No word of a price or release date but we’ll send the info your way as soon as it comes ours.
