Microsoft and Apple have long had a rivalry which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering both companies produce desktop/laptop operating systems with Windows 7 and Mac OS X, respectively.
Apple, in particular, has been known to be quite selective when choosing which devices are capable of syncing with their machines. In fact, iTunes is pretty much capable of syncing with only iDevices such as the iPod, iPad and iPhone.
However, those looking to pick up a Windows Phone 7 powered device need not be alarmed. It was recently announced by Microsoft head-honcho Steve Ballmer that software will be made available that will allow consumers to sync their Windows Phone 7 powered smart phones with Mac OS X powered computers. This is great news as it would be quite the annoyance if a Windows Phone 7 powered device would only be sync-able with a Windows powered computer – but not entirely unexpected considering the above mentioned rivalry.

I thought I would post this just to let you know that the mobile era of phones didn’t start in the last decade.
In fact, this particular phone was made in 1964, and there were 1.5 mobile phones made then. They were “rugged, shock-proof, vacuum-tubed rigs that used nearby radio waves, built so powerfully that car headlights dimmed when you talked”.
If you ask me, it looks like Maxwell Smart’s shoe. Imagine showing someone from the mid-sixties what our phones can do now!

This is U-verse Mobile running on Microsoft Windows 7.
Yes, it bears a strong resemblance to other programs designed for the WP7 platform, and I don’t know how advanced it is compared to other DVR mobile programs. It gives access to the entire DVR for scheduling and checking the program guide, and the user can watch whatever he or she wants on his or her settop box.
The user can also access other deals over 3G and WiFi. We’ll be seeing a lot of terrific stuff on WP7 in the future, like Find My Phone and Cut and Paste.

Remember when Apple’s iPhone didn’t have cut and paste? Well, it looks like Windows Phone 7 is taking a page from that playbook.
Apparently, the company is planning on not having that feature on the first round of WP7. I believe the official date is November 8, but cut and paste isn’t coming until “early 2011″.
Will that affect the sales? I don’t think I would buy it unless it had that feature, really.
