chromewebstore Google Launches Chrome Web Store

Google is really making quite an impact today with things like Android 2.3, 3.0, Chrome OS and even their Chrome web browser. While they came to the game quite late with their Chrome web browser, they have seen an immense amount of growth with many users making the switch from more popular browsers like Internet Explorer and Firefox.

One of the biggest advantages the Chrome browser features is the fact that it’s quite fast when compared to the others (depending how you look at it).

Now, Chrome has another advantage in the form of the recently launched Chrome Web Store. This virtual store will allow Chrome users to download and install a plethora of applications ranging from TweetDeck to Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online. Right now, the offerings are a bit slim but if you search around a bit you’re sure to find something that applies to you.

Has anyone checked out the Chrome Web Store? If so, what are your favorite applications?

Back when the original iPhone made the rounds consumers everywhere applauded the device for being a game changer but criticized it for a few things. One of the biggest things that consumers gave Apple a bad rap for is the missing copy & paste feature. Luckily, Apple eventually delivered with an update to iOS but it let future mobile OS developers know: do not leave out copy & paste.

Today, a video has appeared that shows the feature being utilized on Windows Phone 7 which you can view above. Of course, this doesn’t notify us of when the update is coming but it does effectively confirm that copy & paste will in fact be hitting the Windows Phone 7 platform.

While Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 mobile platform has yet to compete with heavy hitters like iOS and Android it is certainly being received quite well. As time goes on and more hardware manufacturers release smartphones powered by the platform things are sure to get considerably better.

While we’ve seen devices from big name manufacturers like HTC, ASUS has yet to push out their offering. But, thanks to the FCC, we now know of the Windows Phone 7 powered ASUS E600, pictured above. This device features a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, 5.2 megapixel camera with LED flash,  microSD card slot, 3.5 mm headphone jack, WiFi, GPS and a 1,300 mAh battery.

Additionally, it runs on the 850/1900MHz 3G bands so an educated guess would point towards an eventual release on AT&T.

Nothing official has been said about the ASUS E600 but we’ll keep you posted.
