sprint iphone 4g Is Sprint the Next Carrier to Get The iPhone?

The iPhone from Apple, after being locked to one U.S. GSM carrier (AT&T) for close to four years, was announced Tuesday to be coming to Verizon Wireless. This will greatly even the playing field between Apple iOS and Google Android as the two mobile platforms battle for most units sold here in the states on a quarterly basis. The question is will Sprint, as the 3rd largest U.S. wireless carrier, be the next to pick the iPhone up?

This is a valid question for a few reasons. The first is similar technologies. The new Verizon Wireless iPhone has CDMA chipset inside, the same technology Sprint uses.  Also, when asked if the deal was exclusive, Tim Cook, the COO of Apple, said “the deal with Verizon was multi year but not exclusive.”

So what’s Sprint saying about all of this? According to Reuters.com, when questioned about a possible deal with Apple, Sprint CEO Dan Hesse declined to comment. Sprint has actually been a fan of Apple products for quite sometime as they used iPads to propel their 4G overdrive and 3G MiFi sales over the last year. You’ll even recall seeing an iPhone in a Sprint commercial using one of their wireless internet devices to surf the web over wifi.

With the technology now readily available and no more exclusivity contracts to worry about, it’s not a question of if Apple’s iPhone will make it to Sprint’s network, but when. In fact I think we’ll see the iPhone on all 4 major carriers before the end of 2011.

Is anyone a Sprint user and excited for the iPhone, or would you switch to Sprint to get the iPhone? Let us know in the comments section below.

I’m not convinced you can get any simpler than Jurassic Omelet. Initially I was worried this would be a huge problem with the game but actually it’s bizarrely compelling.

mzl.tvtfqujj.320x480 75 300x200 Jurassic Omelet ReviewYou play a caveman who must flee a huge T-rex. To do this, you have to run along the screen jumping and ducking various obstacles. The screen is constantly scrolling so all you have to concentrate on is jumping and ducking. It’s very simple but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Every level is randomly generated so you never know what obstacles to expect next, plus things get increasingly faster. Fortunately the control system is a matter of tapping one of two buttons, and it’s all quite responsive.

It’s such a simple concept, it’s difficult to know what else to say about it. There’s only a local high score board sadly which is a shame as a game like this would have greatly benefited from Game Center or OpenFeint support.

Despite this small failing however, Jurassic Omelet is a lot of simplistic fun. It harks back to a time when games stuck to being just plain old compelling fun rather than adding convoluted options. If you’re after something more complicated, you’ll be disappointed but just like you don’t want to eat steak for every meal, sometimes you just want something quick and easy. Jurassic Omelet is a perfect standby game for when you just want something quick to drop into for five minutes.

Jurassic Omelet is priced well. Any more than $0.99 and it’d be a much harder recommendation to make. As it stands though, its fast paced yet simple action makes for a tempting proposition indeed.

Pax is a title that could quite easily destroy my productivity. It’s a very simple puzzle game but aren’t the simple ones the most addictive too?

mzl.hquhrjcf.320x480 75 200x300 Pax ReviewEach level comprises of a series of parcels. You have to line up all the parcels so that each line matches. To do this, you have to remove a few parcels but you only have a set number of moves to make. There’s three difficulty levels in all – easy, medium and hard. Easy is hardly a challenge at all but it eases you into the concept nicely. It’s the other two difficulties that pose a bit more of a challenge.

Pax quickly introduces other elements such as multiple rows that all must match and locked parcels. You can’t move locked parcels around so it’s essential that you work around them. Bombs also appear which can destroy an entire row and need to be used carefully. Medium is quite a challenge admittedly, possibly more than it needs to be, but it makes for a very enjoyable brain teaser.

All levels are randomly generated making for an infinite number of puzzles. So sometimes it will feel a little unbalanced with one puzzle being much easier than the one directly preceding it but this just gives you some breathing space. Some puzzles take a lot of thought and careful move making although at least there’s always an Undo function to rely upon. It’s quite a leisurely experience really as there’s no time limit so you can take your time thinking your moves through, something that’s rather useful on hard difficulty.

There are no high scores to beat nor any way of tracking progression. This is a game that you play for your pleasure rather than for the sake of beating others. It’s also the exact kind of game that you’ll find yourself dropping into when you’ve got five minutes spare, or you’re procrastinating away. Puzzle fans will love this indeed.

I’m not a typical woman when it comes to cars. I love cars and driving. I dream of owning various supercars that I’ll never be able to afford. I mostly know what the garage owner is talking about when I take the car in for repair. However I’ll admit to knowing surprisingly little when it comes to what’s under the bonnet, what certain noises indicate and what to do when there’s a problem though. Motormate has the potential to help me a lot.

motormate4 200x300 Motormate ReviewIt’s a compendium of common problems that might occur with your car. The diagnosis section asks you to describe things like what the car sounds like when you’re trying to start it then makes some simple suggestions of what to try to get it going. It’s all explained in a simple yet informative manner which is immediately useful to both complete newbies and those with slightly more understanding.

It’s the reference guide that’s most useful though. It tells you how to do things like change a battery, jump start a car or how to change a tyre. The instructions are simple but ensure to remind you of any potential dangers. It also goes onto explain various important terms such as the ECU and timing belt.

Finally, there’s a Rescue Aid section which details your exact location to inform the breakdown services if you’re truly stuck.

Motormate is quite a comprehensive little app. It covers all the basics making it ideal for those who are truly inexperienced with cars. If you know your way around stuff like changing a battery or diagnosing why a car won’t start then this is probably too simple for you. For the majority though, it’ll be an excellent resource that could well help you out one day.
