I’ve been seeing a lot of interesting developments for Android 3.0 (also known as Gingerbread), such as a video calling feature.
Believe it or not, Gingerbread could be coming up on Android phones in about a month or so. I believe this is a month ahead of schedule.
Man, some Android phones don’t even have Froyo (Android 2.2) yet. Now we are talking about 3.0.

Not much is known about Gingerbread, the Version 3.0 of Android, but I have recently heard that it will be equipped for video calling.
Andy Rubin has stated that:
We support video chat today, with Google Talk Video. It works on the desktop. Whether that can be repurposed and made appropriate for sipping bandwidth for mobile, it’s an exercise that’s underway.
This is a pretty good point about video conferencing available for Android versions 2.0 and greater. I can only assume that version 3.0 could be built for it. This is assuming that anyone wants Facetime-style video conferencing.

Various hardware manufacutrers have been known to release their own skins for the different mobile operating systems. For instance, Samsung has the TouchWiz UI, Motorola has MOTOBLUR and HTC has the Sense UI. Some consumers love them, some hate them but of the three the one that’s been recieved the best is HTC’s Sense UI.
Already available for Windows Mobile and Android, it’s been known for a while that HTC plans to bring the skin to Windows Phone 7 as well. Today, the above image has leaked which is reportedly a prototype Sense UI for Windows Phone 7.
Seeing how it’s a prototype, some or all of this is bound to change before it’s actually released. However, from the looks of it, things are shaping up quite nicely.
We’ll have to wait until next month to see if this is real but is this something that would interest you or would you rather the stock Windows Phone 7 look?
