symbianlogo Samsung Shutting Down Symbian Operations December 31st

Nokia’s Symbian mobile operating system may be one of the most widely used in the world but that does not mean it’s the most loved by any means. With the emergence of more advanced mobile platforms like Android and iOS, Symbian has been abandoned by just about every hardware manufacturer that once supported it. Hell, even Nokia has said that their N8 smartphone will be the last to run Symbian.

Too make matters even worse, today, Samsung announced that they would be discontinuing support for the Symbian mobile platform on December 31st of this year. This is most likely due to the success of their Android powered Galaxy S which has made its way onto just about every major wireless carrier and into the hands of millions.

Anyone out there still using Symbian?
